While I appreciate the perspectives brought here by AV and some others, when something looks like ****, and smells like ****, that ain't no Baby Ruth we've been chewing on.
And therein lies the problem. We've been spoon fed mediocrity and the culture that comes with that for far too long now. 15 years of blunders and "anomalies" at a historical program such as the University of Tennessee one would think is an impossible feat. Its become the norm here. You are what your record says you are, and sadly we have become a low tier middle of the road program. And that may even be overvalued opinion.
The fan base has cracked. The last three guys caused a rift and its become a black hole over time. The damage control that goes on here every 3 to 5 years when we arrive back to the start/finish line is really annoying and brings disgust with it. We know what we see. We taste the **** sandwiches we've been forced to eat.
Administration needs to realize UT is at a crossroads. Fans are checking out by the thousands. Sure, some will always be there and blindly support mediocrity, but let's not pretend most of our passion and affinity for Vols football hasn't faded. Plenty of us have now for over a decade. But the bill has come due and we've grown tired of this repeated cycle. Keep him or go get coach McGoogle and all you have done is drive a stake into the heart of whatever is left of our once proud tradition.
I refuse to believe money can even be an excuse or issue. Greed, yes. But actual money, no. Stop. Greatest F'n fan base in the country, billionaire booster support and they tell us " we don't have the finances". Bull****
Phil, swallow that pride man. Axe this dude, and go get the guy. Hugh know what I'm talking about. Anyone that thinks he won't win more than any of the past 4 losers combined then you're kidding yourselves. We gotta get up off the mat before we can even begin to think about throwing hands with bama, uf, or uga again. Hugh gotta start somewhere.
