No way we can keep Pruitt

There is no way we can keep Pruitt now. Year 3 and he still looks lost out there, cant handle qb situation or any on field situation. Our recruiting class is falling apart and there is no way we will be able to recover with Pruitt
Hey! I found you! 1967vol accused me of being you 😂😂

Pruitt was done after getting embarrassed by Kentucky.

If there’s one thing we haven’t learned since Butch, is keeping Pruitt for too long will cause more damage to the program.
I don't believe that he is the only one who will cause more damage to the program.

That’s not how it works. Do you still believe in Santa ?[/QUOTE
No, I do believe in performance based contracts. That’s the issue is the system is so off the rails that we pay absurd amounts of money and get jerked around by coaches and agents. The tail is wagging the dog!

One day this perpetual brush fire 🔥 will end until then find a hobby or make sure you have plenty to drink. Pruitt is just another dollar store purchase.

I just don’t see us getting rid of Pruitt this year. If they have a deal with Freeze and get rid of Pruitt, I am happy.

If they don’t have a coach waiting, then I really don’t want another coaching search. We have seen how well that goes...

They won’t make a coaching change this year. Let’s just kick apathy into high gear and hope basketball salvages this dumpster fire of a year.

Here’s hoping Freeze waits it out. Don’t think there are any jobs on the market this year (yet) that he’d consider over Tenn.

If Pruitt is canned they need to boot Phil as well. He gave the man a raise and an extension. If CJP would have performed well the move would be considered brilliant. He hasn’t so Fulmer has to own the fact that it was a dumb move

I completely agree. I mean, I get that we ended on a high note, but any coach that loses to a non power 5 school and doesn’t win at least one game against a rival where they are an underdog doesn’t deserve an extension. Phil pulled the trigger a little quick on that one.

Amen my thoughts exactly. Don’t replace crap with crap, at least wait for something that doesn’t resemble crap.

I think that he wants Tennessee, but he’s not going to turn down South Carolina or another SEC school to stay at Liberty in my opinion. We could really fudge the bucket and not only not land Freeze, but, have to play him once a year.

For everyone calling for Phil’s head, at least tie his legacy to the decision by end of next year. This is a major CF and needs to be resolved, but we don’t know all the circumstances. We will need to make a decision by end of 2021 though, and that’s how his legacy should be cemented and remembered.

It depends if those schools have interest. Liberty is paying him I think around $3M so he can wait. Latest odds have him low on USCe board. Plenty of time for other jobs to open up but only time will tell.

Here’s to hoping. I’m just a little jaded because I can’t recall the last time Tennessee got their target. Maybe Kiffin? And only because he was like 34 and recently fired from the Raiders. Even then he told Hamilton if the he were ever offered the USC job that he would leave and we pursued him anyway.

Tennessee Vols are digging a hole so deep, the odds of ever recovering are off the charts

Fulmer walked into a dogs!t situation after 6-8 coaches turned us down and he had to do best he could to make a hire. Outside of making himself interim or hiring the best option (and putting ego aside) in Lane Kiffin, he threw a dart at the wall and made a hire.

Regardless- if Fulmer is moving from Pruitt, it means he has booster support to spend 25 million to fire Pruitt and hire a homerun coach like a Hugh Freeze. Fulmer won’t fire Pruitt just to hire some G5 coach who is an up and comer.

Fulmer will be the AD as long as he wants. Him and Freeze actually have a relationship from his coaching days at UT and Freeze in Memphis. Wouldn’t be the worst marriage.

Which supports my reasoning that Fulmer made the decision to give a raise and an extension. It appears to be proving to have been a dumb move. If Pruitt goes Fulmer should to.
