I don’t doubt the connections nor the intentions. Those are genuine. There are just too many angles. Maybe they are all the same stories from different perspectives. Either way:

If the previous 2 or 3 coaching searches taught me anything its that there are no insiders on here, especially those who spoke of Gruden. No offense

The timing of UT-aTm makes it prime for cancellation unless aTm needs a statement beat-down to impress the committee before Selection Sunday.

Not many teams have a lot left to play for. Players are tired of the protocols and some just want to go home.

He'll score points imo, but what he's done at Texas (never winning the conference) he did with the 2nd/1st? most talented team in their conference. He would be moving to a team about 7th most talented and 3rd in its own division (granted talent differences outside Bama/UGA aren't that huge...but that's still 2 annual opponents). Still concerning he has done less with more though.

Mostly I just hate his arrogance and punchable face. Seems like a grade A douchebag strutting around the sidelines trying to make fun of the opposing QB. I could get over it for a big time winner, but 13-8 over Y3/Y4 doesn't scream that.

As much spin as the coaching staff does, and as big of a cluster as this season has been, he's not wrong. Some teams, teams that are more successful than Tennessee, have had guys opt out left and right. For whatever reason, Tennessee hasn't.

The upperclassmen aren’t mailing it in 🙄. That’s literally the same excuse people have made for every other bad hire for the last decade.

Kiffin and Dooley were weeding out fulmer players. Butch was weeding out Dooley players. Pruitt was weeding out butch guys.

Yup.

Low key I sometimes worry Pruitt goes after such types here. He recruited premade beasts to Bama, but they also had floods of talent with the physical attributes. Now he seems to just want physically monstrous/already fully developed HS players just for that...but not always with the talent. I wonder if some of his guys just dominate in HS for exactly that reason.

Anyway, evaluation is supposed to be his absolute best skill, so I'll digress for now, but something is off. Maybe development or scheme idk but it's frustrating.

If he was fired from here, he wouldn't get his full salary as though he was still working. He'd get his buyout, which he has no responsibility to mitigate.

Agreed. I see them play all the time down here and he reminds me of Butch. Total dbag with a lot of false promises.

Maybe it's just me but every time I see the name Freeze mentioned, as our head coach, I immediately think it should be Gruden. For the life of me I can't figure out why I think like that. I know I've heard that name before and I believe it was in reference to a coaching search.

I hung on every word and believed every third one in that spectacle. THAT was a legendary time. But the scars it left on my soul have served as reminders that it’s all an illusion.

practices football outside....no a/c,,, dropped charges, oh wait, that only happens in Tuscaloosa
