I did for a while and then after his latest scandal realize he's just a cheater by nature. I do think he's a good basketball coach though. He can motivate and his schemes are an exciting brand of hoops. It's ashame he has to take the low road.

Seriously--- how, or how will they recruit? What will they say/sell?

Definitely a concern. Look how bad things got with the 2017 class and that rolled over into 2018.

Instead we could cap off a good class now and get a first year HC recruiting boost for 2022 and keep the ball rolling. Like you said, what are we going to sell?? We lost all of our inflection point games...for 3 seasons.

I like Clausen, but it’s like people have forgotten. Most people thought he was holding us back from being elite at the time. It was probably just Randy Sanders, but that was the sentiment. Those early 2000 teams were loaded, despite having a lot of injuries to overcome.

It's not like UT doesn't run the numbers and evaluate all scenarios. Fans always claim a new coach will send ticket sales through the roof and make a coaching change profitable, but that hasn't been the case. Attendance goes up and ticket sales blip, but the increase in ticket and gameday revenue isn't enough to cover the many expenses of a coaching change.

Not to mention UT has facility renovations and upgrades on the calendar, and TV revenue is down due to COVID. I have more of a cut your losses perspective so I agree that it's not always about numbers, but like I've said, Fulmer is willing to ride with Pruitt and there's little enthusiasm for a coaching change at UT this year. It would take a shift in thinking, top-down.

I don't think they look at potential increases in ticket revenue moreso the potential for loss of additional revenue when evaluating a coach. I think if they look at a coach and project losing 5-10K season ticket holders if he's retained I believe that gets their attention pretty quick. Problem is it's very difficult to predict that.

Pruitt would get a pass from me if he’d just acknowledge that the QB position has been bad. I understand you don’t want to throw your QB under the bus but he keeps digging in with JG. The fans see the most glaring issue, stop trying to pull the okie doke on us. We’re smarter than that.

Edit: or just play HB the rest of the season. We understand.

There it is. Numbers don't lie. Pruitt is the worst coach we have had.

Clausen was a good player but People gas him up so much. There’s a reason he never played in the league.

Many donors feel that way. Everyone I know is disappointed and disgusted. But... UT wants any transition to be a smooth one, which means the last thing leadership wants is to make a knee-jerk firing with no succession plan. The last time UT had a smooth transition plan was when Hamilton fired Fulmer and had Kiffin waiting in the wings. Three times after that, UT looked like leftovers nobody wanted.

Last year ended great, this year started great, recruiting was going great, the staff looked great-- and everyone loved Pruitt and thought Fulmer was a genius. Then we start losing, and everyone hates Pruitt and thinks Fulmer is an idiot. Just wait till the Gators get a chomp at us, with some of our key players in protocol.

He actually had Brian Kelly on his way when he shifted to Kiffin. FWIW. Two more qualified choices for sure by being proactive.

The program reverted to norm under Jeremy this season. When JG laid the egg against Bama last season, that changed the pattern and he started trying the other QB's more. JG proved to be a good, one half reliever and that was enough the last half of the season. He still laid an egg as the starter for most of the bowl game against IU. Both USCe and Mizzou this season had major early season problems on O and JG gave us one strong half per game. But then it all caught up again. USCe could have won without the miscue on the punt. Mizzou had no real QB ready to go, They do now. All of it is on Jeremy and his staff - they are his hires and fires. He chooses who plays, he decides how they will be developed, and it is a two season thing going on - not just one. Kirby changed QB's. Drink changed QB's. Ogre changed QB's. Phil sits and watches as Jeremy doesn't change QB's until it all tanks even worse. Phil deserves the questioning IMO.

Gave em heck for not cheering on each other after a fumble or interception or dropped pass or fumble or bad snap or illegal procedure or...because her teammates in soccer are always clapping and smacking each other with pillows even if Connie’s mensing real hard and being a total beyotch! A coach told her after the legendary moment that he had been wanting to say that for years...then they fired Mason and everybody did each other’s hair.

He had no problem calling Shrout out for sending the wrong player in motion and never playing him again for such an egregious offense . He has not been that pinpoint critical of JG throwing pick sixes.

What is with that? JG throws a 100 yard return Pick 6 and Pruitt goes off on the kicker.
