When Pruitt said that today about not trying to only score 17 points, it got me thinking. Time to look back at scoring during his tenure here:

He's coached 32 games here.

Against FBS opponents, his offense scored over 30 points TWICE
(third one was only 31 b/c of HT's pick six)

Also twice they've only scored single digits. (7 and 3)

His team has scored over 40 points ONE TIME (included above)

However...TWELVE times they've scored 17 or less.

Pruitt's teams are statistically as likely to score single digits against an FBS opponent as they are to score over 30.

Easy to see Pruitt is the problem. He continues to keep Chaney from the pass offense he prefers while continuing to start JG.

Even the Defensive Line he is coaching is under performing.

I'm on record that we should fire this guy and go get one of the proven coaches before they are gone.

JP will never be the answer

His O averages 20 points per game vs FBS teams.

For the most part you need a good O to win now days. His teams can’t score, and his teams don’t win.

Below .500 at 15-17 while playing 7 non power 5 teams.........not good.
The ONLY stat that counts.

It has been reported that Urban Meyer's wife has been looking at real estate in Austin, TX. As per our MO, we will dilly-dally around until only the bargain-basement coaches are the only ones available.

I can see Fulmer and Pruitt sharing thoughts on how all a team needs to win is a good defense and a run game with a QB who can manage the game. Hope they see they're wrong and not just short a few pieces.
