So the "can we afford to keep him" argument is legit. It was a major factor in South Carolina firing Muschamp early too. They feared he would cost them more than his buyout.
I mean, sounds good in theory but kind of false math. It’s assuming whatever new hire would automatically lead to sell outs. Highly doubtful. What has the yearly average attendance been the past 5 or so years?
Pruitt isn’t the reason we had 28k empty seats a game last year. It’s the teams perpetual dysfunction the past 13 years that led to it. And hiring a Napier or McGoogle isn’t going to lead to sell outs.
