Derek Mason fired

Considering 2017 with the shape of the program, beating a top 25 team on the road, that was the game that Pruitt gained the respect of most of the fanbase. Right?

Last time I checked the bar was higher then "not being as bad as Butch in his final season", for a respectable season.

We still ended the season with a losing record, and lost to Vanderbilt. Pruitt just got a pass because it was his first season.

The extension is proof of nothing other than a negligent, incompetent AD that needs to be fired post haste, as does the coach he incompetently hired and negligently extended.
You were saying that last year during the winning streak? Didn’t think so. Hindsight is always 20/20

True but Vanderbilt is being a bit delusional here if you ask me. Mason has been a good coach for them, I think they've really let those James Franklin years go to their head.

Do you think not winning a game and adding a girl to the roster is enough to keep a job?

How has he been a good coach for them? His record is 27-55 overall and 10-46 in the SEC and never had a winning season. If Vandy says they are fine with this they should give up football. Then they look at NW, Stanford and Duke and see them with winning records, not every year but often.

You know he wasn't even supposed to play Missouri this weekend, now he's fired. Strange times. Makes you wonder if he'd played Tennessee, he might still have a job if only for a week or two.

I’m all for the best player to be on the field. I don’t care if it’s a woman but I don’t get why it’s such a big deal to have a female kicker come out and kick it like a middle school player and make a big deal about it. Someone else was better and kicked the rest of the game. She was used as a publicity stunt and people acted like she broke through a barrier. Nope, just a side show for attention.

100% spot on...on a fine clear day with no wind they had a player hold the ball on the Tee for her...probably to keep her from getting hit as well as she ran quickly off the field.

As you stated This was a woke stunt to pander and placate a crazy nut job demographic and it worked they actually believe she belongs and earned something and broke the Glass ceiling of Men's football. This was no different than when two teams get together and conspire to allow a special needs kid to score a TD.

In truth it was demeaning and degrading to Women who actually do perform at the same level in the same activities as men.

He has been coaching there at a high school in Nashville. No college coaching experience. But sure, go ahead Vandy

Without the resources to compete in the toughest conference in college football, I doubt the list will be long on experienced, proven coaches. They did it in basketball with the Stackhouse hire and I believe Dilfer’s background as a QB guru would be attractive to QB’s and offense skill positions. Without the financial investment to play at the SEC level...I doubt they could do much better.

If he would've beaten Tennessee, he might have gotten an extension... Timing is everything and sometimes it's just not your time..... 🤔

Vandy needs to hire a young coach who is eager to recruit. They cant afford Freeze. If theyre smart, theyll go all in on Lea.
