Anyone else think that Pruitt messed up by firing the defensive coaches he had last year and bringing in the coaches he has now? Brombaugh was an immediate fire. Defensive line is no where close to where they were last year. The LB's are lost and TOTO is often lost on plays or just plain getting ran over. The secondary is average at best. If our offense was decent this year we would really be upset watching this defense. But the offense is just vile.

Defensive this year:

#1 straight up fat and out of shape - likely COVID + transitioning between conditioning coordinators
-Solomon and Emerson have been un able to even get into game shape all year... Lost Season's

#2 No Pash Rush... Again, and we even run a 3-4 which should have edge rushers galore

#3 Vanilla Game plans - 1st time coordinator, nothing inventive, no creative schemes, no sacks, no tipped balls, no hard hits... just sit back and get picked apart..

#4 Shamburger - A Senior who couldn't keep his grades up, pathetic

#3 is spot is a major problem with Pruitt hiring too many friends. One thing I've learned is that you hardly ever hire friends and family to do business. We are seeing that on o-line and defense calls. Need to hire Muschamp for lbs coach and co-defensive coordinator to help Ansley out.

Is Ansley in over his head? Or does Pruitt keep over-ruling his calls?

Also, some may disagree, but I would like to see Chuck Smith back coaching the D-line. We need some passion back in this program.

Ansley is only calling the secondary.

Ansley is a first time DC. Neids is a first time linebackers coach. Pruitt is a first.time.HC. none of these are working out.

Fire Ashley, Hire Muschamp as DC and LB coach. Move Neids to TE, we don't use them as anything other than blockers anyway. Hire the DLine coach from Detroit Lions that just got fired. Move Osevet to off field role, we don't have RPO anyway. Fire Weinke, it may be JG, but that's his problem and he has at best made no improvement. Let Chaney coach QBs, hire a coach for CBs and one for safeties.

This should minimize our buyouts.

At least Muschamp should be a cheap hire. Let SC pay most of his salary.

I assume nobody wants to work for Beldar Cornbread cuz his answer to everything is screaming in your face, although the prospect if him and Muschump getting into a screaming match on the sidelines is very intriguing.

No he doesn't, in fact he needs a little more passion this year. Did you see mullins and the dc at fl yesterday ?

Pruitt making changes is not why we are where we are. This goes back to the fuster cluck of a coaching search when Butch got the boot. UT being so shameful is squarely at the feet of the BOT/admin. They own this mess...all of it.

He has a reputation for it. Please see the Arkansas game when he flipped out on Weinke for having to call the timeout for his most recent one.

Like I said I wish he would show a little more passion. Most good coaches chew butts when it's needed. No I'm not saying Pruitt is a good head coach, before anyone says that...

Lol. You said it!
I understand the passion plea. He definitely seems overwhelmed by his emotions this season. But aren’t we all? This shyte is miserable to watch and be a part of.

Defense is not the reason we are losing this season. The fact we cannot score any points in the second half is the reason. Our defense isn't perfect but it's being unnecessarily in the spotlight

Pruitt has made horrible staff and rosters choices with the exception of Chaney and I’m not sure how great he is. Jeremy Pruitt has mismanaged his team and had no management experience. He’s like most of the Saban tree with exception of Fisher, Smart and Kiffin. Fisher was long ago, CLK brought more to the Bama staff, he just matured while there. Smart gets a lot of grief but stop talking and look at his results. Our guy is the same man who didn’t know what asparagus was 20 years ago, except in 2020 the asparagus has changed to QB’s.

It would be a race to who bursts a blood vessel first.

Lost a good one in Sherrer to the nfl. Not planned and hurt us.

Rumph and Rocker were good coaches but lousy recruiters.

Braumbaugh replacement was put on hold to help make up for COVID revenue losses.

Still, I think Weinke and Friend are the biggest liabilities. But we got to get our LB situation fixed fast. Also secondary has underperformed (injuries to Sham, Taylor and others have played a part though).

If nothing else, there are two good DCs on the market with (Mason and Muschamp).
