Gun control debate (merged)

An AR is like a Glock. There is nothing sexy about it but it's a platform that works and can be outfitted for many roles. I don't own one but I can see the appeal, the platform allows you to build up any sort of rig you want to fit the purpose you have.
if i need a gun to do two things at one time i don't have time to switch out pieces. I need two different guns.

personally i am not a tinkerer. i want something that gets the job done that I want, and then i want to get on with my life.

not bashing ARs at all. just not for me.

How's that Battle Rifle of the Free World working out for you? (Save the lack of ammo at present)
good. I like it a lot. other people complain about the recoil but I don't notice it from a painful/unpleasant way. obv it impacts the aiming a bit, but I got it equaled out, I wasn't letting enough gas out. so recoil was bad at first and rounds wouldn't chamber because of how fast/hard the breech block was moving. but got it solved. it can be picky about ammo in that regard so i am sticking to federal.

i still have the issue of being out shot with my own gun, but out shooting my friend with theirs. Not sure if I am thinking too much, or just expecting to be better than i am because i am familiar.

i enjoy it.

ARs are effective weapons and a good hobby gun to tinker with. You can also choose not to do anything to most off the rack ARs as well with at most having to put whatever sight/optic you want on it.

Adjustable gas block?

Off topic, but I never realized George Strait is a veteran.
I didn't either and he still walks the walk

George Strait - Wikipedia

Strait along with long time friend and business partner Tom Cusick created the Vaqueros Del Mar (Cowboys of the Sea) Invitational Golf Tournament and Concert held annually at Strait and Cusick's Texas Hill Country resort Tapatio Springs Resort near Boerne, Texas. The Invitational raises money for David Feherty's Troops First Foundation, benefitting wounded servicemen, servicewomen and their families. Since its beginning in 2012, more than US$5 million have been raised by the events.[54][55][56] In January 2018, George Strait was named the 2018 Texan of the Year by the Texas Legislative Conference, a statewide group of business and political leaders. Strait is being honored for his fundraising efforts in the wake of the widespread flooding following Hurricane Harvey.

Now back to shoot em in the leg biden goin' after yer guns

I have ARs
I have an Ak
I have a mini 30 and a 14
I have an SKS

The funny thing is I’d be the most dangerous with my Winchester 30/30 lever action rifle. I can put rounds on target the fastest with that gun and it’s not close.

I have a Marlin 336 30/30 that is deadly accurate through open sights.

Out of curiosity I looked up Manchin’s views on gun control. He’s pretty solid on against this AWB and high cap mag BS. They are gonna have to throw Joe serious money to flip him. Right now both Repubs are favored in GA and even if it goes 50/50 any large gun grab is DOA with any Dems in southern/rural states.

I still hope Biden’s gun plan is getting plastered on TVs in GA but I don’t see any real chance of anything big passing.

And even then at the rate states are telling the Feds to F-off on federal firearms regulations I feel fine living in TX. My county is one of the sanctuary counties.

That’s hilarious. Good luck with that...
No 2nd amendment for the poor, I reckon...

It’s a racist policy that will hurt our minorities and our poor disproportionately more . That is basically taxing the people out of owning their right . I hope ACB points this out to Joe and Kamala when SCOTUS blows it up .
