Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

LMAO.

Where have you been since the pandemic began? Trump MADE this partisan: "Blue" states v. "Red" states. Encouraging his nimwit supporters that it was all a Democratic "hoax". Not wearing a mask. Holding huge rallies where there's no social distancing, no masks. Etc. Etc. Etc.
are you going to take the vaccine?

Death rate has nothing to do with herd immunity, so the posters claim seems to simply refer to the 'rate of death', which is nothing more than a number, not a ratio.

It has everything to do with how severe a virus is . Now take our positive results + our hospitalizations + our deaths + our population and you’ll see why we say your are pushing overblown fear porn while admitting you won’t take a vaccine .

are you going to take the vaccine?

I take flu shots every year prior to the winter.

As for taking any CV19 vaccine, the answer is nope, not initially.

Any vaccine won't be available to the general public (including me) until maybe April, maybe later.

I've got 6 months to watch, listen and learn. When and if the opportunity presents itself, I'll make a decision then.

In October deaths were about 1k per day when the cases were around 50k daily new according to the chart. 2%. Now deaths are around 2k per day, but the cases are almost 200k daily new. 1%. Death per day doubled per the chart, but cases per day quadrupled. Lower death rate.

I wouldn't get too excited about that. Deaths lag case counts. It's far too early to compare those numbers.

Exponentially increasing hospitalizations

Surges in Europe, US push exponential COVID-19 rise
This is about the tenth time we've heard of "exponential" increases.

The CDC numbers aren't showing "exponential" increases anywhere in the US. And many of the places they're reporting 70%, 80% increases are going from 8 hospitalizations to 14 in a week. They'll inevitably go back down, just as they have every other time this panic mongering fires up.

Besides, I have zero trust in CEOs in systems that directly benefit from increasing COVID situations.

So then how can you ridicule anyone for not wearing a mask? There is not solid data on mask either

I wear a mask. I follow CDC recommendations.

As I said, when the opportunity comes to potentially get a vaccine (probably April or later), I'll consider it. Until then, I'm in compliance with all CDC recommendations.

So you don't believe the news?

To help with staffing shortages in the Midwest, the Mayo Clinic is recruiting health care workers back from recent retirement, bringing in staff from other sites (primarily Arizona), temporarily moving research nurses into patient care roles and reducing elective care to redeploy staff to COVID-19 patients, officials said.

Over 900 Mayo Clinic staff in Midwest have contracted COVID-19 in past 2 weeks

You don't believe that there's a staffing shortage in Minnesota at this major hospital?

All I can do is give you facts and hope you don't ignore them. If you poo hoo them then there's not much more I can do

It shouldn't be a consideration, Monty if you truly care about stopping the spread and ending this then take the vaccine

I've never understood why it matters, other than those known to be infected have a heads-up and can isolare and seek early intervention, if necessary.

Regardless, this should result in fewer deaths. If they keep rising, it seems double super bad.
Why what matters? I had trouble following you.

Two things .. that forgot to mention what their quarantine protocol is thats restricting all the healthcare workers , even though they said some were out because they were taking care of sick family members . The other is if they are running close to 85% critical care beds being full , what’s their normal average for this time of year and annually ? If we are going to look at a specific issue we need all the details not just some then panic over them .

Rates and ratios are not precisely the same. But both compare at least 2 sets of data. I cannot speak to rjd's intention in his post.
Even so, what you understand something to be and what something actually be doesn't matter.

What do you know , you aren’t CDC “ compliant “ 😂

If deaths continue to spike, and testing reduces deaths, what is the argument that more testing had any increased affect on those deaths?

Maybe thats not the argument. Ill pay more attention.
That's not my argument.

How does testing reduce deaths? I am unaware if that outcome is an expectation.

You can still be personally responsible while also utilizing a safety net. To what extent the safety net is used is up for debate but it needs to be there.
The government shouldn’t be taking away our freedoms at all but either way relying on your fellow man is a bad way to go through life bc the only person you can depend on his yourself..... Look at nursegoodvols post yesterday...... she treated a patient that was flying knowing that she likely had covid before she stepped on the plane..... no one washes their masks or wears them correctly.... imo..... they do very little to protect anyone anyways.

We need to overhaul the CDC..... it is not a well run organization
