I'm ok with retaining Chaney under 2 conditions...

At the point, I’m ready to bet that they are going to roll with the same crew next season.

They’ll all be back

I'm betting that 3-4 will look for new jobs and get out before the ax falls next year. Pruitt will probably let 2-3 go so we'll see quit a bot of turnover at the end of the season and he'll have trouble filling the spots with quality assistants and the ones he does hire will be overpaid with 2 year contracts.

I don’t really throw much of the blame on Chaney. He’s a proven OC. I think he’s pretty limited by not having one deep threat quarterback. Bailey may be the guy, but JG, Shrout and Maurer are not.

Accord to folks that broadcast we got the most complicated offense in the world. If that is half true why haven't they realized it's too damn complicated because the offense can't stop staring at the sidelines every single play. It's pathetic, there is ZERO excuses for it. Golly damn, there is no reason for things to be that complicated and what is worse is the playbook has been getting more limited as the season has progressed. They have not even let JG make any long throws which show you the confidence there. No we are not giving ourselves the best chance to win by playing JG, everyone in america knows what plays he can and CANNOT execute. For the love of humanity put Bailey in and let him learn, and goodness gracious you don't have to make a offense so complicated is locks up the entire offense. Make things easier where players can go make plays, quit trying to outsmart folks with overthinking. The sad thing is our offense hardly looks complicated, it looks predictable. Screen pass to wr that go nowhere. We never run many slants and if we do they are of the 5-8 yard variety that get stopped on the spot. We haven't ran a wheel route all year, we never throw to the middle of the field but teams eat us alive there. It's like we can only throw quick screens and down the sideline, how dare we do anything else. We should run more quick hitting running plays and incorporate a full back in short yardage and goal line situations. We have to find a tight end that can block and make plays downfield. Our recievers have to get space, and quit being so easy to defend. There is no reason for our offense to be this bad. But it starts at QB, let us take our lumps with the freshman right now. He has a line that is capable of blocking, it's time for the offensive coaches to earn their money and put our offense in a position to succeed. GBO!

You realize he coached offense before Georgia right?

You realize he has produced more bottom 100 Os since his return from the NFL than top 25 Os, right. It's pretty simple with Chaney. You give him a NFL prospect at literally every position like he had in 2012 at UT and in 17 and 18 at UGA and you'll get a statistically decent O that blasts poor defenses and falls on it's face vs elite defenses. You give him average to above average talent that is in line with most SEC defenses and you get awful Os.

I was under the impression every team he has went to has drastically improved on offense.

I’m sold. But if a necessary change can’t be done because of him? I’m cancelling the transaction.
What is your feelings on Bailey? Some people are now writing him off which is unbelievable with all the hype he generated on VN the last couple of years. It’s hard for me to judge high school talent when comparing similar players because all the clips you see are good.

He’s as good (or better) than advertised imo. People love flash and legs or both. Always give me the guy who can keep everything in front of him and adjust to the adjustments that opposing defensive minds throw at them. Also the QB who gets the ball to his weapons? Wins!

Chaney or not, the realization that you need to migrate to a West Coast style spread offense to compete is becoming more and more of a reality (just look at bama, Ole Miss and Florida).

Great DCs like Pruitt, Smart and Muschamp can't stop them even with top level recruits.

Like the nfl, the rules now greatly favor offense over defense.

I dont like Chaney but I am on board with keeping them all only because whenever there is a big turnover of Coordinators there is a set back, I think we roll with what we have one more year and give them a chance to fix it but if no improvement next year its time to move on from the whole group.

Chaney has been an above average coordinator at every stop.....

Until he had to coach JG.
That kind of says it all. Give the man a damn QB!! Look what he did with Jake Fromm! He wasn't great! But Chaney made him look great! He was much better, with Chaney running the offense.

Conditions for Chaney to Remain at UT:

1. He loses 2 people, aka, drops 300lbs
2. He throws away Randy Sanders Playbook
3. He receives an injection of MOJO from Austin Powers

Any of those not completed, and he automatically receives an offer from GameCockVille to take over from MuffChump.

If he gets #3, will he be
shagadelic?

Well yeah. And it’s a safe assumption, name another stop where Chaney is consistently calling running plays on third and long. He knows his QB can do nothing but harm the team if he puts it in the air but he’s stuck with him bc he’s “awesome in practice”.

1. Weinke is not retained. Find a good QB coach.

2. Someone forces him to dust off his notes and playbook from 2009. Steal and install Kiffin's offense. It was beautiful and simple. It scored points, it recruited, and it was simple so young recruits could get on the field as freshmen.
Weinke boutta land Ty Simpson.

We keep him.
