Y’all crazy as hellagree....read thru his defensive coaching career, it would be hard to find someone better to lead the defense...
Will Muschamp - Wikipedia
Won’t matter. He’ll wait for the best offer. Lest anybody forget, they had a “head start” when Spurrier quit mid-season. Targeted Smart and Herman...ended up with Muschamp.
I don't think Muschamp would be interested in a position coaching job, imo.
I'm not talking about him taking a hc position. Im talking about a job like DL coach, or LB's, etc. I think he'd want to at least be a DC.if he wants to coach, he better start getting interested. Unless he wants to be the HC at South Paducah Community College, he is going to have to take an assistant job. Considering that his buyout will tack on whatever is needed to guarantee $3 million plus for the next few years, I don't think he'll be too worried about the money.
He's failed twice as a HC. I don't see him getting another chance for a while, if ever.
Pretty much what I think. My thoughts:
1. Muschamp has already been the head coach of TWO SEC programs. I do not see him being a DC for anybody more than 1 season before taking another head coaching gig.
2. Muschamp I believe would have a hard time working for a guy with only 2.5 years of coaching experience given what Muschamp has on his record. Since Pruitt is reported to be hard to get along with and we all know about Muschamp's short fuse, I don't see that work relationship working out
I'd take a hard pass on Muschamp as DC at UT. It either wont work or it wont last long.
