As long as Fulmer's still the AD or has a vote Kiffy will not wear Orange on the UT sidelines. PS: if Kiffin keeps eating and throwing em back he'll soon catch Chaney.

You hold onto my dignity - I am tired of sucking. You and Fulmer's dignity cup will be why we won't hire Freeze, Kiffin, etc. and why we hire people like Pruitt and Jones.

It takes a bold move to shake off the stench surrounding this program. Pruitt sees himself in JG - and so we have the offense that we have. Outside the box thinking and leadership are needed -
Ole Miss looks exciting and well coached and they went and got a couple decent qbs.

At this point - we need something dramatic to turn things around.

Being tired of sucking is one of the reasons I don't want Kiffin. Maybe we should at least wait until he does something significant as a head coach before we get down on our knees and start groveling for him to come back. It's pitiful.

You don't have to get down and grovel on your knees. Damn, anyone on this board ever hear of moderation. It's almost pathetic how people believe two-choice extremes are our only answer

He was an OC and had NFL HC experience (albeit failed). He wasnt mature enough for sure. Shoulda gone after Patterson at TCU.

Doesnt change fact that Hammy's contract negotiating with Kiffin was negligent and set us back a decade.

As usual Pipsqueak Hamilton got Owned by LK.

Our present offensive scheme is absolutely terrible with the worst OC in the country. Totally my opinion and I personally do not care what anyone thinks about it. I would love to talk to Chaney and tell him how terrible he is as an OC.

I'll go you one further; He SUCKS as a NUTRITIONALIST!

Kiffin left by choice in the dead of night though, Fulmer did not leave voluntarily, he left because we thought his 152-52 career record wasn't good enough anymore and we are 72-72 since that time.

Fulmer was fired because he couldn’t win against ranked teams, UGA, FL and Bama.

We all know Mike Hamilton screwed it up the first time. Would you like Kiffin back in Knoxville?
Hamilton could never have anticipated that the Southern Cal job would come upon when he hired Kiffin, and the Southern Cal job was the only one Kiffin would have left UT for. I don't fault Hamilton for that. His subsequent hires however, were disastrous. Had Kiffin stayed, I think UT would be rolling. Or at least be competitive.

Kiffin left us without warning and killed any chance we might have had for a successful transition post-Fulmer. We needed someone who would come in and "right the ship" and instead we got a guy who took it into deep water and scuttled it.

While he was here, he recruited a bunch of criminals and other guys who failed to contribute much of anything. He committed recruiting violations, ignoring specific warnings in the process, and brought unwanted NCAA attention to the program. He violated SEC rules by making accusations against a fellow coach and was forced to issue a public apology. For all that, we were rewarded with a season where we finished one game above .500 -- a 7-6 record with his trademark victory coming against a mediocre UGA team. We lost to everyone else that mattered, including an embarrassing showing against Virginia Tech in the bowl game.

But somehow now we have fans daydreaming about a return to that mess, like jilted lovers who can't let go of a bad relationship. And why? Is Kiffin setting the world on fire in Oxford? They're 3-4 with wins against Kentucky (by 1 point), South Carolina and Vandy. What am I missing here?

Pitiful is the only word for it.

Don't want him back as a HC. But, you have to give it to him. He knows how to run an offense.

Let's see...

Kiffin knows what he's doing
Kiffin puts out effort
Kiffin shows an actual desire to win the game
Kiffin is innovative and good at strategy
Kiffin knows how to relate to other homo sapiens

I can't think of a single way that he's not an upgrade over our current situation.

Kiffin was an immature punk when he was here. He screwed up big time, he knows it, and honestly I think he’d jump at the chance to come back and take us to the next level and make amends.
All that said, Kiffin isn’t a program builder. Instead he’s a first class OC and a real game day coach. IMO he couldn’t have inherited the mess here that Pruitt did and rebuild our foundation.
It’s obvious now that Pruitt isn’t an SEC caliber HC. But he’s recruited well and rebuilt the foundation for a next level HC like Kiffin or Meyer to come in and level us up.
Barring some miraculous 180 degree turnaround by JP it’s time to close this HC chapter and bring in the guy who can send this to next. Because our present trajectory sucks and is unacceptable.

This may be the most pathetic thread ever. Isn't it bad enough that we suck? Let's at least try to hold onto our dignity.

Hacksaw, amen. A frigging men!

Would leave Tennessee in a split second if he felt was something better/more comfortable came along.

Why give him a chance to do that to us twice?

Are we really that stupid?

ZERO loyalty.

He's burned so many past employers it's ridiculous.

I was upset when he left because of how much excitement and hope he brought in just one season. Hamilton made it easy for him to leave contract wise. I would personally move JP, big Jim and All the rest of these clowns myself if it meant getting Lane back in Knoxville.
