I think our offense would be great in 95-2005. The most popular offensive scheme right now in the NCAA and NFL is RPO’s. We don’t use it, have not seen us use it. I think Chaney is great with superior athletes or in a time warp.

We run plenty of RPOs. It’s the downfield stuff where we’re bad.

We can't use it as JP keeps using JG. JG doesn't have the capability to run a RPO offense. He can't run a basic offense. Chaney has had good offenses everywhere he has been, not great but good enough to get to job done.

Our Offense is horrible..... looks like they think they can just line up and bulldoze opponents...

Lineman are overweight and out of shape...RBs fall down when breathed on... zero breakaway ability...

Playcalls so vanilla and predictable... no TE throws... WRS are barely targeted

No Screens... no misdirection.... plays develop slow... no bootlegs, no reverses... no jet sweeps

Chaney looks like he’s thrown in the towel lol...time to hit the buffet and retire Jimbo!!!

We can’t even get the Mike lb call right. If you can’t even line up, no way you can run the right plays to the right spots.

Chaney will NEVER be anything , but simply average, at best in my opinion.

Just don't understand the criticism of Chaney in this instance. First, he's obviously limited by JG and Weinke as a developer of qbs not to mention Friend. Second, just like with Helton, Pruitt meddles. He's doing what Pruitt tells him to do instead of letting him do what he was hired to do. Chaney might have seen the game pass him by, but he's not the issue. Not even close.

Maybe Chaney has thrown in the towel. I'm sure he regrets hitching up with Pruitt.

I will throw in a few counter arguments.

The line is poorly coached, even Trey has taken a step back. Cade looks like a shadow of his UGA self. I do think S&C has gone backwards.

Our backs are average to slightly above average and all are small.

I think we don't target WRs because they're often not open. There's a reason these guys were down the depth chart most of their careers. When they are open, the ball is thrown two yards behind them.

I don't think we have a quality TE to throw to and JG is terrible over the middle.

We've run several end around/ sweeps but, as you pointed out our line is slow and out of shape.

We tried two flea flickers, and one of them won us the SC game (as awkward as it was). To have attempted two flea flickers in six games is a sign of how desperate you are for offense.

When JG attempts a screen I hold my breath every time. Also, screens are difficult for slow linemen

So if you're Chaney and JG is forced on you, your line is slow and poorly coached, your backs are easily tackled and your WRs struggle to get seperation what's your gameplan?

If I'm Jim I'd have my agent look around for another gig before Pruitt further tarnishes my reputation.

Big question for me is whether Chaney was forced on Pruitt by Fulmer or whether Pruitt actually thought he was worth the 1.6 million per season they are paying him.

Either way, it lands right back at Pruitt and/or Fulmer being incompetent in making the hire and overpaying for a guy that was on the verge of being fired from GA anyway.

I’m not defending Chaney. Hell honestly I’m done with the entire staff. I just don’t see the University of Tennessee doing anything to get involved in big time football. We’re happy to be bottom of the East, our administration has not made one mood since CLK to get back on the map.

We do use it. I could even provide clips of us running obvious RPOs under Chaney if you’re interested. Last season a common rpo we’d run was all hitches out of trips with zone away.

Most teams take an ILB and walk him out towards the 3rd wr. He normally still has B gap responsibility. So you run zone away from trips to influence him back in the box and throw the hitch to the inside wr if he bites. If he doesn’t, you have an uncovered gap to run in

Something seems to be missing from the play calling like TE seam/hot routes, RB/WR screens, will routes, draw plays and lead backs in power sets.

The TE and wheel routes are missing but we need the TE to block since JG is slow. Screens are the only thing he is hitting. Our o line can't make a hole for an ant so why would you call a draw play.

Chaney either needs a gunslinger at QB or a stable of 1st round RBs. Otherwise, you get what you are seeing the past 2 years.
He did pretty good with Tyler Bray...and he wasn’t as touted as Harrison Bailey.
