I mean...if I'm Hugh Freeze. And my choices are South Carolina, Tennessee, or Auburn I'm coaching Harrison Bailey for 2-3 seasons.

Despite our on the field product looking like a hot mess, the blocks to have a high powered offense are sitting here waiting to be used. 3 or 4 WRs with legit 4.4 or faster speed, a pro sized QB who technically still has 4 years of eligibility past this season ready to sling it all over the field.

Kaidon Salter and then Ty Simpson. So, yeah never bought that TN is a tier 2 job.

NOTHING like that has ever been uttered about any of the past 3 coaching hires. Now is the time. This may be the last window for another decade or more for Tennessee to take a step forward rather than a step backward or remaining stuck in mediocrity.
lol we have a coach right now.

Didn't know Hugh coached highschool ball in tennessee. He'd be perfect.

Nah makes too much sense

Coached Briarcrest for over 10 years. Won a couple state championships. Got his shot at Ole Miss when Coach O hired him as an assistant and went there with Michael Oher.

They know.

Archie hand picked Hugh for the Ole Miss job and still remain close friends to this day. I read an article a year back that Archie stated it was time for Ole Miss to move on from Coach Freeze but he would always support him as a friend.

UT hiring Freeze would help in the recruitment of Arch, and possibly restore the image of Hugh with Archies continued support.

I love your passion guys and it's exciting to think about CHF, but let's get real. The athletic department is in a deep financial hole, and just re-up'd Pruitt's contract. It isn't happening unless Pruitt left us first (a. why would he leave 12 mill on the table, b. where would he go next for similar pay?). I just don't want to see you guys get crushed with disappointment.

We’re use to it.

Are we doing a Gruden thing, or is there any chance at all with Freeze? I just read that the AM/Vols game might be cancelled. I think Auburn's game is cancelled--could they do a switch up, since neither of our teams have Covid?

Hiring Freeze may also bring a Manning QB to Knoxville in a couple of years

Even after the Arkansas game I was cool with giving Pruitt more time and letting him build the program with his players and rationalizing it with we didn’t need another coaching search that it would only set us back, but as the week drags on and all the rumored reports about the locker room I’m starting to think at this point what’s the worst that could happen. Especially when you have a proven winner available and would take this job in a heartbeat in Freeze. If he fails then at least we went out swinging. The whole Hubbs situation is interesting to me he could’ve easily put water in the flams but insisted he’s stoking them. Either he knows something or he’s a frustrated fan like us and is tired of mediocrity and tired of covering for the staff.

Good luck, disappointment is a constant state of being a Tennessee fan, and I agree there's no chance of Freeze happening.

You sure about that?

The point I was meaning was that no fanbases were even acknowledging UT moving forward with the hires of Dooley, Jones, and Pruitt.

And now, at the hint of UT looking at Freeze, there's nervousness among conference brethren. What Freeze did in beating Saban ought to be enough for any UT or Auburn fan to want him as their coach. But alas, I have no confidence it will happen.

Main thing in all of this is to keep supporting the players until something changes. JG is a tough kid who just isn't an SEC caliber QB. Not a criminal offense. Lived in Ga when Joe Cox and Hutson Mason were getting death threats. Hope we never stoop that low. Think it's time for a change at QB, OC and probably HC but until then...GO VOLS
