Coronavirus Is A Key Campaign Issue: What's Joe Biden's Plan? — NPR
My thoughts (like it matters):
1) mostly already being done, to include pages on pages of CDC recommendations for all types of businesses, schools and hospitals. But again, aligning how states with various population densities and living environments address the virus is going to be tough. NYC and SF are not Iowa and Wyoming.
2) We already test at a rate almost twice that of other countries. I really don’t believe that inadequate testing is a problem. Especially as it is, we are not altering recommendations for people with exposure with a negative test from those with a positive.
3) I agree with having a system in place for pandemic response to include temporary contact tracers and other public health officers, but there is no way this needs to be an ongoing government office or position.
4) Covering Cobra costs due to pandemic is one thing, but there should be an expiration date. Otherwise it appears as another back door to universal coverage.
5) a care giving workforce is a good, short term idea to create jobs while allowing others to continue working. However, government funding of this should again have an expiration date and be used only as part of a pandemic response.
