I honestly don't understand how every seems to think we win 3 games. Sure we should, but the way we have been playing, Vandy will beat us too. It's not hard to beat a one dimensional team... especially one that isn't that great in that one dimension.

If Bailey takes over and balls out, we will certainly beat Vandy and be in some ball games, but if it's JG or Bailey isn't ready to play, we lose them all.

I hope pruitt and right this ship, but it doesn't look good.

I have said for a while Pruitt doesn't care about this year. Maybe he thought the season should have never happened? Maybe he's givenup totally? This is reminiscent of Dooley's tenure when he was basically begging to be fired to Hart.
Ding ding ding. And it’s reminiscent of Butch already having a job when he finished the 2016 season, if he had not of screwed it up by losing to Vandy. When he lost and we were stuck with him for 2017, we should have fired him with cause for breach of contract immediately. We would be in a lot better shape right now had that been the case.

It was going to be bad enough for Texas A&M to whip Tennessee. Now they are going to do it being down 15% of their roster. If these players with COVID are impact players and somehow UT puts together a good game, COVID will be the reason given. If A&M pummels UT, then how much worse is it that they did it without some of their roster. It may be better for UT's sake at this time that this game be postponed.

There is zero chance Jeremy doesn't answer Saban's call to come home as DC if he gets fired. There is zero chance that Saban does not make that call with the D's he has trotted out there the past couple of years. He'll make around $2 million per year doing so. Subtract that from the annual buyout.

UT has an annual tradition of budgeting for football coaching buyouts. That's what they do. They don't nave to do that for basketball anymore. Hart lucked into Barnes and they paid the man. Kelly wanted to come home and she has shown she can keep the program competitive even if the days of dominance may be over. The economics for terminating CJP has already been made on here. It's a no-brainer for normal football powers. However, it is UT we are talking about. We know how UT is.

We fans did not make the last 4 HC hiring decisions. UT/major boosters did. They did so in mind numbing fashion that resembled shizstorms. Even with the Kiffin hire they ignored the warning bells and left Brian Kelly at the alter. Yes - the boosters put their money where their mouths were. They deserved a say in the process. However, without us fans in large numbers there is no Vol football. They need and want our money and fandom to sustain. Personally, I no longer desire to support their continuous major mistakes and embarrassments. Jeremy has been one of those. I find that facing reality helps me deal with major disappointments better. But that's just me. Should Jeremy do a 180 and turn his coaching methods and decisioning around, I will support him. But not if he stays as he is.

I want Pruitt to be successful. I think he will be.

He needs time.

I am working to change my outlook.
I am far less animated by bad coaching this time around than I was regarding Dooley and Butch.

I don’t know if this means I’m less interested or just getting older and putting sports into perspective, but I don’t quite believe Pruitt is either of those guys.

I think he’s probably going to be fired. But I still see a small path forward.

id rather win than lose, no matter the circumstance.

that said, none of what you said is lost on me from a perception standpoint. i'd be fine with playing aTm on the 12th of december...

i'd be ok with pushing the rest of this season to the spring. lol.................

We all want him to be successful. However, if it doesn’t get better this year, can you afford to give him more time hoping he turns it around? We’ve been at this point with our last two coaches and more time only did more harm. That’s where I’m at right now.

Whos to say Saban doesn't pay him $100K and let UT foot the bill?

me niether. and i think we all have seen the blue print he's tried to put forth, as far as what he wants the team to look like, how they should play, and what basic "style" they should play. and it looks like the bones of what should be a solid SEC program...it really does. i've said that from the beginning, we're gonna at least "look like" an SEC team again..............

for whatever reason, his biggest issue that i can see is strictly dealing with personnel decisions, and why a kid should get PT vs. not....i think some of that is simply due to the fact that while at Bama, UGA, and FSU, you could easily tell which kids were ahead of the curve, and which ones needed development. and at those programs, they had the recent history and results that dictated how that should go. i would imagine a lot of those decisions were relatively easy, at least in comparison to our situation.

so coming in here, where in many cases there may not be many discernable differences between player 1 or player 4, you fall back on experience (your own and who's on the roster) and go with that. but there also has to be an understanding that we aren't any of those programs right now and we don't have the recent history or results that should preclude anyone from seeing some playing time....especially if you're in developmental mode.....as it most certainly appears we are, or should be.....

i think that's what i don't understand the most...just put guys in. get them in some games, put stuff on film....if this year really was a throw away year, then why wouldn't you be rotating like mad men and getting reps for a bunch of guys? it's a free year from an eligibility standpoint, so screw it......

that's what makes no sense to me. if we're playing for the future and this year is a throw away year and it doesn't matter......then personnel decisiosn should be really, really easy. but that's not what's happening and i think that's why i don't buy the notion they think this is a throw away season.

they do need to play more young guys. HB needs reps. Key Lawrence...play him somewhere.....Omari Thomas....Spraggins....among many more....

you want me to buy in....then show me that you are playing for the future....it'd make what i see on Saturdays at least a little more digestable, especially if you honestly think you have no shot at winning anything anyway. and given how JG came out and has played this year, we knew pretty darn quick that not much changed there, so our outlook on the results changed iwth that.

err'body knew that if JG was same old same old, that severely limits our ability to make any noise in the SEC. well, that's what JG is.....and if no one else can play QB....then play everone else.

i'm so sick of sucking azz.....if this year wasn't a throw away year at the beginning, it certainly is now. so if you have designs on being here next year and making a year 4 push, i'd start finding out what else i got on this roster when the lights are on.
