I talked to someone in the AD who works on the financial side of things. 40 million is being kind.

The loss isn't 40 million in the hole, it's 40 million less in revenue vs 2019's total revenue. A good portion of that would've been shifted towards the academic side. That side is going to feel some pain when multiple millions don't land in their lap after the 2020 season.

It's always next year here isn't it. The same crap was being said thru the Dooley and Butch tenures here. Enough is enough. It's time to cut cord with Bama Gump and move this program forward. Some UT fans have never seen the good years at UT but all have seen bad coaching over the last 10 tears and Pruitt is just the next failure with large buyout to try and coach here.

If we were to move on Pruitt buyout wouldn’t be an issue. The biggest two problems we have are-will Fulmer act and will the university make a conscious decision to get involved in college football again.

Truth! The fan base has been supportive over the last fifteen plus years of sorry football! Only way to fix it now is to show the UT administration enough is enough! Anybody who supports this dumpster fire after being lied to for fifteen plus years is voting for more medoracitty! You are playing right into the UT administration lack of support!! No more money from me until I see proven results on the field for a sustained period of time!

It's so obvious that coaching is the culprit...Had basically the same team returning minus 3 defensive starters and 2 wide outs...However, the coaching staff turnover was significant, replacing 3 coaches on defense. After this season, he needs to clean house on the offensive side of the ball with exception of Tee and Jay, reassign Tee to QB coach...On defense, he needs to reassign Nieds to another position. I don't know anything about the S&C coach, but this team is soft...

No chance he stays if he keeps losing...Fans won't show up and big money donors won't be sending in that check they do every year...I promise you if he loses to Vandy the search will be on however this is Fulmer's guy and he will go down with him if he doesn't pull the trigger...I do not trust Fulmer to find another coach...He'll screw it up like he has all the other times.

3 wins is the ceiling next year, you'll pretty much be replacing an entire OL, JG will likely be back as QB, there are some rumblings about some player turnover and with this year not counting against them they don't lose anything by leaving.

I can assure you, if we hire another coach, it won't be Fulmers choosing. He may walk him out at the introductory presser, but he Aint hiring. And believe me, buyout is not an issue.

I have no expectations that Fulmer will actually fire Pruitt.

However, a small glimmer of hope to me is maybe Fulmer wants one more chance at leaving a better legacy at Tennessee and makes the move for a Hugh Freeze in order to know he left Tennessee football better than the way he found it.

I do realize this is wishful thinking and we are stuck with Pruitt for at least one more year.

Fulmer won't fire Pruitt, ever. He gave him an extention, before the season even started with 3 seasons still on his existing contract.

Fulmer will be fired next season, and a new AD will be forced to fire Pruitt half-way through the 2022 season.

I agree. That's why I started out saying I have no expectations that Fulmer will actually fire Pruitt. We are stuck with a coach that has proven in three years that he can't get the job done. He's losing to teams that are unacceptable to lose to and he hasn't come close to closing the gap on any of Georgia, Florida, or Alabama. In fact, we may be further away from those three schools than we were in his first season.

There's enough talent on the team and coaching staff to be better than what they're showing now. It all starts with the head coach.

Problem 1: Fulmer is problem 1,he did just like our other AD’s and gave a raise and extension to a coach that hadn’t done anything to earn it.
2: the university cares about $$$$, and as long as 7-5 teams sell out every game they don’t care

What gives all of you fire Pruitt folks any confidence that the UT admin will be any better at hiring the next coach. UT has not gone after a big name coach since J. Majors, in the 70's!!!! Other than wishing and hoping, what makes you think they will do it with the next hire. Not a big Pruitt fan but I have less confidence in the hiring process than I do Pruitt turning things around.

So your argument is that regardless of the obvious reality that Pruitt is not HC material, and UT is on a downward trajectory towards even worse football than what we saw under our last two coaches, we should just keep Pruitt indefinitely, and hope that he magically becomes a good HC at some point in his life, because you are afraid that the next UT AD will make another poor coaching hire?
