I’ve never seen anything like this bunch. I’m no happier than any of you, hell I’m even checked out of the football season because of it now...but, y’all have got to be the pitchfork brigade if I’ve ever seen it. Worse than a bunch of children not getting the BB gun they ask for when they’re too young for it. I’m pissed off, myself. Real bad. Do I want it to be off with his head? No. We all knew what kind of situation we were in when he took the job a few years ago. It’s legitimately not gotten that much better and there’s good reason for that. The roster still isn’t comprised of all the type players that SHOULD be on an SEC roster, including JG whom I think would barely fit in at the FCS level. For us to expect that we’re gonna be able to pick and choose whomever we want to come here as assistants & all that, we have to be kidding ourselves & that’s not even being negative or mean about it. I live and breathe this university just like any of you but there’s no way I’m coming in to get pummeled by this fan base and then not get to to have access to the things I need to be successful due to booster & donor incompetence. Whether we like it or not, we’ve got to continue to leave it up to Pruitt until his contract expires unless he shows some tangible results. This year has been wacky for a team that couldn’t afford to not have spring practice and summer practice and fall. We don’t have the kind of talent yet to overcome those problems unlike the teams we’re trying to catch. We just aren’t there no matter how much we have felt good about our swipes at them. I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt but in my eyes his leash is getting tighter and tighter. I’m hoping we can retain our recruiting class at least for this season and that will give us a fighting chance next year because I truly believe Jarrett is gone and we will have an influx of a youth movement of Pruitt’s type of players and guys that want to play together. This team has no cohesiveness because there are too many ME players that don’t know how to play with any players that have the killer instinct drive like Jauan had. No leaders. All followers.

We must all be missing something, because it’s baffling to me how everyone for the most part in this forum can see this, but our admin and boosters can’t. Same goes for the numbers and how much money they will lose by trotting Pruitt out there next season. Is his buyout $12 million now? If so, you mean to tell me SCe has more money than we do to be able to justify paying a $13.4 million buyout for Champ? It will cost the admin more than $4 million next year to trot Pruitt back out there. It seems they are so short-sighted that all they can see is the immediate large number they have to pay. They don’t see how much they could lose because of lack of butts in the seats. They don’t see how much they will lose by having to fire some assistants anyways, then bring in new assistants, and then pay their buyouts next year when this all fails. Smh. I know it’s easy to make these statements when we aren’t the ones making the decisions, but THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME WE HAVE BEEN IN THIS POSITION!!! IT’S THE 3RD STRAIGHT TIME OVER THE COURSE OF 11 YEARS!!!The same fractious boosters and AD are involved in the basketball program and it's humming along. Do they like shooty hoops better? No. We have a good coach there and it shows. A good coach will succeed regardless of boosters or the admin. We simply need to take a page from the little brothers of the SEC West who got tired of feeling like there was no hope. Fire our version of Chad Morris and hire Freeze or someone else who at least has an idea of how to manage a game. But tbh, there's not a better time to reach out to Freeze than now because if we don't someone else will and we will be stuck holding the bag. OM dumped Luke because they wanted Kiffin and were not going to stand by while their rivals upgraded and to be fair to Luke he'd done far less wrong under far worse circumstances than Pruitt. He was more collateral damage in the race to be better than a bad coach. In contrast, all we've done the past 20 years is stand by while our rivals upgraded. If we wait, we will once again lose. Waiting is what has gotten us here and kept us here.
This is what I just said but with the exact numbers! Hat tip, kind sir!Not my words but truth:
Well, if we are worried about a 12 million dollar buyout, then let him finish the last 4 years of his contract after this season. We’ll save the 12 million dollar buy out but at 70% capacity in future seasons due to the crappy product on the field (assuming we can have Neyland at capacity) will cost the University 30,000 seats x $100 per ticket a cool 3 million per home game, not to mention parking, souvenirs and concessions. At 7 home games per season that is $21 million per season in lost revenues for a cool $84 million over 4 years. But by all means let’s not pay the 12 million.
Then tell them to Hugh something about it!!I should go back to my first love. But can't quit the Vols. I don't know what is going to happen. Do not think Phil will bring in Freeze but would love it if he did. I said at the beginning I would wait and see results on the field. Well, they are lacking. Also felt like Pruitt had to be able to turn it around because another failed coach would kill us for an even longer time. If we don't get freeze or someone like that, then we are stuck with this gump and we have got to hope he can keep the class and a QB that is program changing. Question is would he play the kid. I will always cheer but moving into the background rapidly. Spoke with a guy bigger than me in the scheme of things and people are pissed.
Man come on. You’re acting like he is in year one and the team is only Butch players. This is year three, mostly his players, and they look worse than year one. Everyone has a right to want him gone. Anyone can see it is over for him.I’ve never seen anything like this bunch.
