Do any of you remember the biggest reason Ole Miss won back then? Anybody remember those #1 recruiting classes that mysteriously showed up in Oxford, his 1st QB in Bo Wallace had already been in his system pretty much 2 seasons and he's an offensive wizard, circumstances are entirely different here than when he went and had success there. He's going to be under a microscope when he returns and as long as NCAA is still running things I think he'll struggle to get away with things he got away with in the past. I think he deserves a 2nd chance just no way it's in Knoxville within the next few years. I think he's got his eyes on Auburn as I believe they'll be the only ones willing to take the risk as their big booster is the biggest risk taker of them all.

I, for one, am all for letting a coach get his time to develop his roster into his own before looking elsewhere. But... with the way the game is going you need to have a great offense to be at the top. There is a reason UGA hasn't truly gotten over the hump of beating bama - They lack an elite offense. I am a defensive guy but you look at the last 4 title winners and there is a trend: LSU, Clemson, Bama, Clemson - all had elite offenses.
They all had elite defenses when they won too. Pretty sure you need both but it's easiest to win with a dominant defense 1st.

And crook

I don't know Hugh personally, so it's unfair of me to say what I'm about to say, but I'm gonna say it anyway based on what I perceive to know about him. I think he'd drop Liberty 6pm tonight if he got an SEC offer.
He would but you can bet the contract would be stacked in his favor. He makes 2 million a year now, a University is going to have to make a deal with the devil to get him I believe as he's going to demand a big number laced with a contract that protects him. I don't see anyone much willing to take that chance, especially when every program got crushed financially this year.

You can go back even further than that. 2015 Alabama was a real strong defensive team, but they had a RB (Derrick Henry) that won the Heisman. They didn't sling it all over the field, but Henry ran for over 2000 yards and 28 TDs.

The last team that truly relied extensively on their defense to win games for them was probably Alabama's 2012 team.

OMG why do all these fans want to hire the guy who recruited/got caught with escort services. He's at a place now where they don't really care what kind of personal shenanigans you get into. He should stay there.

As much as I would like to see it I dont think this program has the balls to make such a move nor the stomach to eat the buyouts right now.

They wouldn't even back Pearl when he got into trouble for a BBQ and trying to cover it up, they won't get anywhere near a guy with baggage like Freeze.

They will ride this sh**show out and waste another season until the contracts are up for everyone next year including Fulmer.

No doubt here either, he isn’t known for his character....but tbh, I think he will be a great hire FB wise by whichever school takes the chance....the man can coach, ask Saban.

Auburn wants to win. We want to be 'pure'. Here's a news flash, we aren't. And we are still losers.

But, at least we can clutch our pearls and claim we are 'purer' than BOTH teams in the SECCG. So there's that.

This program is finished for a LONG time.

"The only person who can hang with my junk is Jesus".

he said. after using a school phone to speed dial prostitutes.

I'm happy to let Liberty deal with his craziness. Clearly they are accustom to bargaining away their values for money.

While I voted yes because I think he is an offensive genius and he could immediately come in here and have some of his puzzle pieces he needs. It will be the bible thumpers in knoxville and surrounding area that are the main reason this will not happen. Before I catch any flack, I am very much a bible thumper who realizes that I am only saved by Jesus Christ and God's grace, however I know the fleshly man that I was and still struggle with. But that doesnt mean that I should be shuned forever for the things I did in my youth/20's. From what I understand, Freeze came clean to his wife, re-dedicated his faith, and was put on a strict "probation" by his family. Additionally, if I remember correctly, he turned down other offers when he came off probation to be a Liberty which is a Christian school. If he is willing to come here and be on a strict watch to include the school having open access to his phones and computers, and heck probably a chaperone when he goes on recruiting trips, then I'm good with it.......but like I said, it'll be the "Christians" who lead perfect lives (on the outside) and have no problems casting stones as they are without sin that will keep this from happening.

Goodbye then, move on. Why would you want to be a fan? Go root for the commies in Alabama as they fit your attitude much better. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

South Carolina will go after him if they aren’t already. TN doesn’t want him coaching a team they play....but we are going to sit around and watch it happen

No, it'll be the fact that he's going to command 4-6 million in a contract that is going to tilt in his favor if something goes wrong. Christians had nothing to do with him cheating to get those #1 recruiting classes to Ole Miss. Every school in the country has taken a beating financially this year, so bad that another would change what college Athletics look like forever, no chance a conservative place like UT takes that chance this year.
