Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I don't know. It seems to be an empty gesture. I think everyone who wants testing is getting tested.
I get the feeling local health people around here are kind of getting pissed more people aren't getting tested. They're doing all these free public tests and getting fewer and fewer takers. But when a positive test means you can't go to work or you have to find childcare for your kid for the next two weeks it's not super surprising.

OMG, when I saw him on the sidelines last night, that may have been my breaking point.

I would like for ONE PERSON to give me a sane, logical explanation for his presence amongst teammates while being ruled too dangerous to participate in a game.

COVID, 7% death, case counts, killing grandma...etc.. You know the routine.

You seriously have to evaluate what state and even what county/town you live in now.

I am glad I have set myself up to be somewhat mobile for this.

I quoted the paper further up, but he’s a Democratic donor and Professor of Economics. His premise of his original paper was to prove Trump events were bad, which is the wrong way to approach research.

Also, mask wear is interesting because he said in Trump rallies that most weren’t wearing masks and in Biden celebrations most were. What is the definition of “most?” 51%? 75%? 95%? Because that number is not able to quantified, it becomes really difficult to measures their effect with so many other variables.

I’ve also been wondering, now that Biden looks to be the next President, how long will it take for the pharmaceutical companies to switch over from producing the “unsafe” vaccine to the “safe” vaccine?

I’m guessing around 10 weeks.

I was off by 9 weeks.

To date, the most rapid vaccine development and approval has been mumps, which took four years. Typically, there is over a decade involved.

These "leaders" do realize people know the numbers are going up and these same people are choosing to still go to athletic events, social events, etc.

Why do they believe it is their job to protect us from ourselves?

As usual your analysis is off the rails. There are two classes of “us”. And while numerous terms could describe let’s just use “smart” and “stupid”. So it’s not protect “us” from “ourselves” it’s to protect the “smart” from the “stupid”; or the informed from the ignorant, or the happy from the miserably unhappy, or the positive from the negative or wait for it winners from losers.

Ok PG, my "us" is people that I hang around. That circle is full of people with advanced degrees. They dont care about this and are past altering their behavior for it. But I'm sure your social circle is a much more educated bunch, lol.

Making yourselves more vulnerable in the long run is not smart.

Ruining the economy from a disease that currently kills .4% of those infected. For comparison the spanish flu killed .6% of the total US population. Covid is .06% of the total.

It's not smart to use numbers with no concept of what they mean.
