Why Tennessee is a basketball school...


If you exclude Fulmer's 3 games as an interim, Tennessee football has not hired a coach with P5 HC experience since 1977.

Rick Barnes had 704 games of P5 HC experiencing when we hired him.

This has the potential to be the best team we've ever put on the floor. On paper it's by far the most talented roster ever. Three 5 stars and three 4 stars.

We still haven't gone to the sweet sixteen and he has definitely had the talent to do it. We were #1 for a few weeks.. Barnes has not done anything significant yet. Texas was happy to get rid of him for a reason.

How is that working out for UT? He has still not provided any evidence to support his salary or did UT go to the sweet sixteen and I missed it? Oh, yeah, he did go and lost to Purdue in a game they should have won but Purdue came from behind and won.

I don't think we watched the same game. If I recall we we were down huge at the half. Came back and took the lead late. Dude for Purdue was enfuego from three in the last few minutes. It was an incredible game.

You are right. My apologies. I obviously remembered it incorrectly. I just remember the loss.

When Barnes took over our basketball program was beyond a dumpster fire. Now 5 stars are knocking on OUR door. Barnes player development is unrivaled. He took a 2 star that literally nobody wanted and made him SEC player of the year. What he's done with Fulkerson is amazing. This team is his first team with the raw talent to do real damage in the post season. It's going to be a great year.
