TN fans are Johns

No one will want to make a coaching change due to the lost income from the chinese virus. That makes it the PERFECT year to make the move. Less competition...and Freeze is still at Liberty. I say DO IT and do it now.

If Vol fans are Johns then Fulmer must be the clap that we can't shake no matter how hard we try.
i totally agree..they should've never let Fulmer back around that program because after his last season 08 he should've never been able to step around that program forever ! but oh no...favoritism up there couldn't keep him away ..smh

Our coaching staff sucks, I believe in the players they just need better coaches. I can't believe that this brush fire 🔥 continues to burn . Coach after coach after coach.
I just want a real coaching staff. Pruitt spews the same garbage after every loss. At least Butch Jones recruited Josh Dobbs who basically allowed him to keep his job.
Dooley was a joke, and now here we sit with Pruitt .
All coaches were 2-4 million per year. You get what you pay for.

Wonder if Mrs. Fulmer still hates everything UT the way she did when he was fired as coach?

This is how the AD and school views the fanbase.

They believe the fans are stupid, uneducated John's who will keep coming back no matter what....and after 20 years of crap it appears they are right.

1st....the ESPN money is still there even during the pandemic

2nd.....while the stadium is only 25% full it still has 25% revenue coming in.

Are things financially tight?

Yes.

But anyone who believes that the school cannot, and I stress the word cannot, afford to fire Pruitt at the end of this year is wrong.

Butch contract buyout ends in February.

Firing Pruitt is basically a flip in buyouts.

Is this the best time financially to fire a coach? No. Would it make things very tight at UT? Yes. Could it be done? Yes!

But here is the deal.....if everyone keeps buying seasons tickets you are part of the problem. Anyone who goes to a game is part of the problem.

There must be a complete boycott of this program and a strong online boycott on Twitter and other sites that shines a huge unwanted spotlight on our school to get people fired and nervous.

If you love this program it is time to make a stand. Stand now or this program is dead.

I have no idea what the outcome will be but we as a fanbase must unite together now or this program is over.

One Ut fanbase!

One voice!

All united!

We do not accept this! We do not accept this! We do not accept this!

Say it and then show it!!!!!!

Love the enthusiasm but who are we going to get to replace Pruitt? We thought we had a plan in place after fired Butch. Well that didn’t pan out and I’m glad we didn’t get Schiano. The only viable option is Freeze but do we want that baggage? I know USC wants him.

Pruitt is not the answer but I don’t want him gone unless we have a plan for a legit coach. I don’t want anymore google search coaches. Could we pull the coach from Cincinnati?

Realistically I just don’t see Fulmer firing Pruitt after this year.

The blame game is over. We can leave names out at this point. Firing any head coach doesn’t fix the problem. It will only draw the fans back in to their expectations of winning- just like it has the last 3 times. This means your expectations go up again, and (most important to the athletic department) your money going to back to a program that hasn’t been nationally relevant in over 15 years. Sure they could fire Pruitt and, say, hire Hugh Freeze. But what does that really do? At that point they haven’t won anything besides your time, money and support. There is a reason that none of the big names come here. This program has done UT fans wrong for too long and they should have to prove themselves to the fanbase. This means tuning out and making them earn our support. This is their dumpster fire not ours. And I realize I’m putting in the time on a message board. But if you think about it this is a safe space. Fans like can keep up with the program without watching or going the games. I do this deliberately because frankly they don’t deserve my small amount of money. And I don’t think they deserve yours either.

I attended EVERY game Tennessee played, in person, from 1987 to 2001. As a result of this epic downfall, I’ve not been to The Hill since 2014. And worse case, I don’t t even miss it. Fulmer, Dooley, Kiffin, Jones and Pruitt have driven me from the returning home.
I know the response, I’m a quitter or don’t come back. I’ll come back when there is a reason to come back.
Meanwhile, I like and support the Vols and CJP.

The fan gravy train will end soon. You take away a normal season by limiting attendance and folks will find other forms of entertainment on Saturdays. The natural rhythm of attending each Saturday is now interrupted. They’ll realize it’s actually not fun to pay top $$ and watch mediocre entertainment.

Now that Pruitt is officially a bad coach it only gets worse. When we go 2-8 with a loss to Vandy, and lose the recruiting class are you pumped about renewal? This football program is a total joke.

Is Fulmer at the clappy grimacing pumpkin stage yet? That's when we will know that he has fully tuned out and is just cashing checks.

Pruitt is already there.

So you're wrong on pretty much every point. Here's why:

The fans are idiots, and this board is a great example of that. UT football is essentially a perfect economic market. There will always be consumers who will pay whatever the market value for tickets are. There is no way that anyone, anywhere, could ever organize a boycott of college football.

There is a financial shortage in the budget whether you believe it or not. They aren't asking people to take pay cuts for the fun of it. Also, UT is a public school, you can get a copy of their financials through a FOIA request. These things aren't a secret.

You say it would "make things tight" to fire Pruitt, when earlier you said they have plenty of money to make it happen. Which one is it? Do you understand the total cost to buyout the current staff, AND pay the new incoming staff? Good luck making that happen with a budget shortfall. UT still has to support all the other sports and those cost real money as well.

Unless you are a mega-donor (you aren't) you have absolutely zero say in what happens. Nobody cares what you think unless you financially contribute meaningful dollars (you don't). Good luck trying to organize a boycott, as I said earlier, you have a better chance of overthrowing the government than you do getting people to not want to show up to Neyland. I know this board is your outlet, but stop being one of the idiots that thinks their voice matters, and they know what's best for the program.

It seems you and JP would get along well. Have a beer, chill, and stop attacking fellow posters. I never understand that.

Schiano was not hired because of this board and fans standing up.

You can be a jackass on here all you want but that deal got killed due to public outcry.

Ok. Let’s say we empty the stadium and no one buys a ticket anymore. What happens next? Do you honestly think for one minute that any type of recruit would want to play in front of any fans that act like that? Oh yeah, there are no fans. No fans, no recruits! No fans, no money for even a decent coach. No money, no scholarships. No scholarships, no players. Do I need to go on to debunk your idiotic, stupid comment. Please think before you type.

Actually his point is spot on and he just showed how ignorant that comment was. If you are willing to type something stupid, then be ready for the backlash that comes with it.

Arkansas was the first game in a very long time that I was not interested enough to stay glued to it. Thought we were winning. Hah! Anyway, you know how fans are. Lose several games and it's fahr the coach because the world stopped turning. Win a few and everything is mighty fine or somewhere near all right.

Actually, no, and ad hominem attacks are always silly, IMHO.
