This is how the AD and school views the fanbase.

They believe the fans are stupid, uneducated John's who will keep coming back no matter what....and after 20 years of crap it appears they are right.

1st....the ESPN money is still there even during the pandemic

2nd.....while the stadium is only 25% full it still has 25% revenue coming in.

Are things financially tight?

Yes.

But anyone who believes that the school cannot, and I stress the word cannot, afford to fire Pruitt at the end of this year is wrong.

Butch contract buyout ends in February.

Firing Pruitt is basically a flip in buyouts.

Is this the best time financially to fire a coach? No. Would it make things very tight at UT? Yes. Could it be done? Yes!

But here is the deal.....if everyone keeps buying seasons tickets you are part of the problem. Anyone who goes to a game is part of the problem.

There must be a complete boycott of this program and a strong online boycott on Twitter and other sites that shines a huge unwanted spotlight on our school to get people fired and nervous.

If you love this program it is time to make a stand. Stand now or this program is dead.

I have no idea what the outcome will be but we as a fanbase must unite together now or this program is over.

One Ut fanbase!

One voice!

All united!

We do not accept this! We do not accept this! We do not accept this!

Say it and then show it!!!!!!

1000% op. We need to make a campaign. Boycott until there’s a significant change. But what I’d say is that we first have to get rid of Phil fulmer. He’s the one that hired this idiot and just now extended him when no other team on earth was interested in hiring him away from us. It was so completely unnecessary.
Fire fulmer this week. We don’t want him anyway at all involved in the search. And we need to throw big money at a few guys. I’d start with urban meyer. He has to feel like a scorned live with the way he was done at Ohio state. He deserved to have the stick by him through the drama. Throw the damn house at him. If he’s unwilling to get involved I’d then go after Gary Patterson. If he too is uninterested I’d go for Hugh freeze. One of this three would take the job.

Yup. Every few years they do unnecessary upgrades to keep the facilities state of the art. They could just postpone some of those upgrades and we can live with having facilities that are really good but not quite the newest. For example, now that Butch Jones is gone they could forego upgrading the juice bar.
alot of these defensive players look like they spend more time in the cafeteria than the weight room anyway

I’ve been following the Vols longer than I can remember. I get it. Everyone, including me, is disappointed. When I was at UT (4 years) we may have had 1 winning season. Stay the course. The players could use our support right now..

How does staying the course help?
We just got beat bad by a first year coach with less HC experience than our guy and half the talent.

What do you think 2 more years does for this program?

I'm curious because you are clearly on the opposite stance as myself so I want to understand this perspective.

The money that would come in,if they had a winning team would more than offset the buyout.

Stress is too rough on Meyer. I doubt he'll ever coach again. I'm of the opinion we simply need an entire new offensive staff. Will Friend definitely doesn't belong here for instance. May hang on to Graham. Tee will likely be pissed off because I think Fulmer has a long range plan of Martin becoming head coach but Martin isn't being tutored properly. If Fulmer doesn't correct this you don't have to worry about a boycott......it'll be automatic. Who wants to spend money watching their team get destroyed by less talented teams on a weekly basis ?

I've said for the last several years that too many UT fans just enjoy 'The Experience'. They enjoy the Vol Navy....tailgating.....The Vol Walk....The running through the T....If we win then that's just a bonus on top of 'The Experience'. Until that changes and fans demand more don't expect things to change.

Why wait until the end of the year to fire him? Keeping him until the end is like trotting JG out there for every start instead of using a throw away year to get the future guy ready. Maybe whoever is the interim can spark something in this team and they can finish the season with heads held high.
