This is where I am. I was super close after Butch, but when Fulmer took the interim AD and then officially full-time, I had hope that he would mend the division that occurred when he was pushed out, and everyone would finally start rowing in the same direction on the Hill. Painful that this is not the case. Even our NC winning coach can’t get the entire administration and boosters rowing in the same direction. It makes me think no one can do it, if he can’t, which leaves us at this...how do we ever ge back to being among the elite? I’m not sure we can without everyone on board to make TN great again. This is a sucky feeling. @InVOLuntary has said this on this board numerous times...it’s all about the financial bottom line. It’s not about winning. The administration knows what our fanbase is like and has taken advantage of it in a time when the money in football is astronomical. Instead of investing the revenue that we give them on a quality coach and trying to win, then keep feeding us hope with the next up and comer for 3-5 years, let us keep spending our money, make maximum profit, then spit that coach out in 3-5 years. Rinse and repeat. Until our massive fanbase says we have had enough and stops supporting the crap coach they throw at us, it will be status quo, no matter if Neyland himself came back to life and led the charges as AD. It is what it is, and is very frustrating for our great fanbase. We deserve much better!

The Chicago Cubs did this for decades. Why try when the fans show up no matter how bad the team is?

We all would, but unfortunately, those who make the decisions and have the money could care less what happens to TN football. They just take advantage of this great fanbase.

These losses barely even bother me now. Hell at this point I’m ready for another coaching search whether that’s the right thing for the program or not. At least it brings some excitement and delusional hope.

I’m not sure he’s not one of the main problems. Zero imagination. Zero! One of the things last night that will go unnoticed was the second to last offensive series before halftime...because it didn’t really hurt us at the moment, but imo, was just bad coaching. We are up 10-0...running the ball effectively and with 1:50 left on the clock he calls a go pattern to Brandon Johnson in the end zone. A first down there let’s you milk the remaining time, add a minimum of 3 offensive plays and still be in position to get 3 points. Not only does the incompletion stop the clock, it also risked being pushed out of FG range with a sack...not to mention a missed FG allows Arkansas great field position with 1:50 remaining. Turns out it didn’t bite us, but go routes and handoffs right up the gut aren’t going to cut it...won’t cut it in HS ball.

You have to be way smarter than this when arguing that JG was the problem last night. JG played darn near perfectly for what he was asked to do so stop it with the using of stats to say he played poorly especially after last night

let me help you with a more intelligent argument.

The coaches gameplanned with JG last night like he was a 9 hole hitter asking him to sac bunt every time he got to the plate. He even got a single last night and did exactly what was ask of him but the SEC isn’t a league for small ball. It’s a league for letting your guys swing the bat. If JG can’t be anything more than a sac bunt guy he’s the problem even though he was good at it last night.

Texas is all over going after Meyer. Tom Herman basically will have to win the Big 12 for them not to fire him, and the number being floated for Urban is 5yrs/$50 million.

Next year. We have a lot of young talent that just needs development. Bailey would be a heisman candidate in freeze offense.
