It’s a QB game

CJP's outstanding flaw, so far (imo), has been not recognizing our glaring weakness at QB and not doing everything possible to remedy the situation. Whether transferring in a better, more serviceable JC whether they eventually played or not, or forcing the issue with Cheney and Weinke. I understood his defense of JG sort of, for a while, he has to support the starting QB or lose credence somehow, but had he had more foresight this wouldn't be necessary, covid be damned.

This is where Pruitt’s lack of experience participating in rebuilding is a negative. He seems to think he has Bama’s talent around the QB. A mediocre game manager only works when your talent - at all other positions - is elite. We have too many holes to trot out a QB with the hopes he doesn’t lose the game. And given our problems with ball security and 3rd down, we aren’t doing that either.

The way GA played KY is the way we should have played them.

Only if you want to win maybe 5 to 7 games per year. If Ga plays that offensive scheme against Fla, then Fla will beat them. And the Ky game set the progress of their qb back by not passing enough. Ga. is loaded with 5 star players and only score 14 points, that is terrible.

I'm not sold on HB. I haven't seen him play enough and his lack of mobility is a concern. Part of JG's problem is that he doesn't move well in the pocket or extend plays. Even for a guy with a great arm and decision making, the modern game favors guys who have at least average mobility.

Yea, recruiting rankings are one thing but the proof comes with how they perform. I hope HB can process the game at SEC speed...that seems to be JG’s biggest issue

OP is correct, college football is a QB lead game. If you have a talented QB you can play if not you’re Tennessee. I honestly believe we don’t have a QB that can play SEC football and we don’t have a coaching staff capable of developing one.

How did you come to this conclusion?
