Understanding Jeremy Pruitt's philosophical difference with Jimmy Brumbaugh

Was it enough of a difference to fire a guy 4 games into his first year? The defensive line was a concern coming into the year and has proved to be a weak spot. Whole front 7 right now isn't very good including Henry T. Makes your secondary look bad when you can't generate any pressure. Need a edge rusher and a Tackle to step up.

And I thought we hired a defensive genius as HBC.

That's what they tried to sell us on... Most of us took it with a grain of salt. He doesn't have the guys up front right now to make this defense what he wants it to be. It all starts there.. I guess he needs to hit the recruiting trail.

Pruitt has a defensive mind and has been a successful defensive coordinator. Is it really a big surprise to people he's 'up to his elbows' involved in the defense?

Almost as shocking as Saban being neck deep in bama's defense, right? Now before you go apesh!t saying the two aren't comparable. I'm not comparing their skill levels, only the type of coaches they are and how they involve themselves.

But has he really been a successful defensive coordinator?
