Fair enough, but I still don't get it. It's cost me nothing.

What happens in 2 weeks? Lulz. If JG starts, what? What if we win but JG sucked? What if he has a great game like he has had once or twice? Just busting your nads.

This has been such a weird year. I’ve not had the same intensity when I watch as in years past. I pretty much don’t judge it the same, because of the different challenges the teams have had to face. I get what bill and joe are saying, but joe, you can’t judge all teams difficulties with Covid the same. It’s different due to each state’s guidelines, depending on what state a University is located, on how they have to handle it. No, I haven’t researched each state’s protocols. It’s just my thoughts and very well be wrong.

IMO, college football is starting to resemble women’s college basketball. There’s a handful of teams that have, and a bunch so far behind them that’s it’s really hard to catch up. Even if I’m right, that’s there’s just too many crazy variables at play this year, we’re still several years from catching up to Bama and those upper echelon teams. We could resurrect Neyland as HC and still be years away

Look closely at the Alabama game and you will see that a lot of the trouble spots were cleaned up. Alabama has an offense that made Georgia's defense look like they suck! That's probably the best defense in all of college football.

Yeah I am thinking the South Carolina and Missouri was more the normal than Kentucky game was.

I agree. I would like to see a competitive team against the "big 3" but only for the sake of a good game. Reality is we are not competing for the East anytime soon. We aren't winning the SEC as long as Saban is at Bama. For all the teeth gnashing about our coach, no one is going to come here and get us up to championship caliber in the near future.

Yes, I agree with what you’re saying. As a fan, I often fall into the trap of believing college football, at the highest level, is about competition and providing a quality product. Then I have to remind myself it is not. It’s about providing money for the university, scholarships for a few, and the salaries of a relatively small number of folks. Of the 130 teams in the FBS division, roughly 90-95% have zero chance of winning the CF Playoff on any given year. Every administrator is aware of that and they do not care, as long as they’re getting paid. Parity is an after thought because we are still willing to pump millions into the industry without parity.

Prediction: The champion for the 2021 season will be one of the following:

Ohio State
Ala****
Clemson
Oklahoma
Oregon
Georgia
Florida
Miami
Penn State
Texas
Notre Dame

And realistically, that list is probably way too long. That leaves 119 (118) teams with zero (0) chance of winning the CFP. They are only playing for the fun of it and/or to provide money for the university.

Edit: I’ll throw in LSU, too. But that’s a stretch.

Unless something drastic happens I think there's only 3. One of the reasons that I think the CFP sucks. Let the teams play, rank them and then have the bowls. When you play a game of longevity, the haves win every time.

A two loss Texas or OU is definitely not playoff bound. After losing to Indiana, I think PSU is out and I don’t see Miami overcoming Clemson. I’ll be shocked if Florida beats Georgia, but I won’t rule them out yet I suppose.
