The “mulligan games” theory is interesting

Vanderbilt, Georgia St, Kentucky discussed. Throw in BYU. Bringing up how staff didn’t have teams ready or “interested” in the game.

Withrow not a fan. Obvious.
Thought Hubbs was spot-on that each game's causes were very different. That said, none of the causes are very excusable or make it any better.

Jmo, but the cause behind Ga St was most egregious. Simply not being prepared on either side is just bush league. Vandy...maybe Helton had something to do with it as Hubbs alluded to, but we gave up a lot of points too. It was later mentioned CJP may have lost the team by then. UK...we overall played nose to nose with them barring the TOs. I'll take that (turnovers have a lot of variance) over just getting whipped play for play like we did vs Ga St and Vandy.

We’re gonna get curbstomped this week regardless of who plays QB. With that aside there should be no reason JG sees the field again. He’s worn out his time 5 times over and has shown repeatedly that he’s not the guy. Before you say it... I know, I know - armchair coach comment incoming. I’m starting to seriously question this staff’s aptitude to assess and make the correct personnel decisions.

HB is unproven so I can’t speak to him outside of the fact that he should be given a shot. The other QBs we have aren’t even remotely close to elite or what we need to take this team to the next level. Play for next year and the year after that. Put JG off to the side cause he’s a mental case of a QB. Play whoever gives us a decent shot of the remaining QBs but HB needs a shot before we can rule one way or the other on him. If he’s not ready then the staff needs to quit kicking the can down the road on JG and focus their attention elsewhere. Then go recruit an ace QB with the so-called recruiting studs we have on staff so that guy can take over.
Exactly my take away from that podcast as well. The fact that they have missed on every QB and continue to play a QB who is losing us games is terrifying. And Maurer being under Shrout is absolutely crazy. Shrout might not start for GA state and they still keep him at two. I just have no words. You have to go with Bailey and only Bailey for the future.

Who’s all out?
Riley Locklear has season ending surgery. Gucci has to be overreacting to that. Carvin is likely to play. Jahmir may also push through the turf toe. Locklear was at best giving “decent” breathers for the starters. He was too injured to keep on going.

Price “I’ve never understood the Brian Maurer love by the fans”

R.I.P. QB1/QB2
That’s the only reason JG starts, to be the sacrificial lamb. No way in hell he “gives us the best chance to win”. If that is seriously the case then the staff has merely been idle not doing there job. They should have been reppin’ the other QBs with the 1s every chance they got since last year.

I bet Bailey starts. The boos will be deafening if JG runs out first. Next snap JG comes in and we’re all pissed because Bailey just threw a rope.

Yeah not getting why it’s gonna be a patchwork oline tomorrow. Cuz locklear is out and wanya and jamir are banged up? The latter 2 are probably to be available, so what am I missing here??

I was at the Georgia game last year. When Maurer hit Callaway in stride for that long td Neyland Stadium was rocking. The fans were in it, the sideline was in it, and fans at home were in it. There was a palpable energy. There was something different about having him on the field that wasn’t/isn’t on the field with Guarantano.

Turf toe is a pain in the arse, seems like Jahmir always has some sort of injury that screws up his season.

It’s bama hate week, time we all start acting like it.

Especially since I have two bama “friends” staying with us this weekend. I’m thinking of putting an Alexa in their room and setting an alarm to play rocky top around 7 a.m. Thoughts? Ideas for some good natured fun before kickoff?
That’s genius. Do it! Start the day off with a win. Might be the only one we get tomorrow!
