I am too but I know he can handle it. I’m more worried about Pruitts reaction when/if he turns the ball over. With a gunslinger it’s bound to happen. I’m also concerned about the other 3s mindset. If Pruitt already has them scared to make a mistake, mistakes happen BECAUSE of that.Like I said, I am struggling to decide if I am hoping for that this Saturday or not.
You are. If that’s what you’re still spewing...no lol. Call him a dolt or pigheaded or whatever, but the guy’s about winning. And that’s not how you do it. About a week or so ago you brought up BLACK CLEATS as evidence that he’s trying to destroy the program for Bama. Not realizing (how could you...you’ve been a “lifelong fan” for a nanosecond) that black cleats is a FULMER STAPLE. Read up better if you’re going to peddle crazy on here.Said that since last year and I was told I was a conspiracy theorist! Lol

Let me explain my point that you’re referring to because you’re a perfect example. You’re a life long UT fan that knows quite a bit about the game. If UF gave you an opportunity to coach and you felt capable you would take it, correct? But that wouldn’t stop the ORANGE from running in your blood. Pruitt is from Alabama. He played at Alabama. He coached at Alabama. It’s a safe bet he’s a lifelong Alabama fan and just because he’s now the HC at UT doesn’t stop the crimson from running through his blood any more than the orange running through yours. You are. I meant out of JG or Maurer. He’s preparing for Maurer because he did more damage last year than JG. He already knows how to play JG so Maurer is the safest bet in his shoes. That would be my play anywayI think he thinks Maurer will play.
I don't think HB is ready. I think there is a change from JG. i don't think anyone really trusts Shrout.
By deduction, I think we see BM.
Vince Dooley was an Auburn grad...Dawg icon. Pat Dye UGA grad...Auburn institution. Darrell Royal Oklahoma starting QB...Everything in Austin is named after him. Throw a hand up when you get the point.Let me explain my point that you’re referring to because you’re a perfect example. You’re a life long UT fan that knows quite a bit about the game. I didn’t mean it like he was trying to lose because he grew up hating Tennessee. I didn’t mean it as sabotage. I do believe he’s trying but the cleats is more likely a testament to old school Alabama than old school Tennessee. If I missed or didn’t know something I have to apologize for that statement.
I agree. If someone besides JG starts he needs to leave them in for at least a half regardless of how they start as long as they aren’t throwing multiple pick sixes like last week. They need a chance to get in rhythm and settle any nerves they might have, not make one mistake and get yanked.I am too but I know he can handle it. On the flip side of that coin is the fact that if Maurer leads them to the upset(however unlikely it is) then he hits near instant legend status. Legends don’t return to the bench. He reminded me a little of Johnny Manziel last year, it would be nice to see him burst onto the seen and stun Alabama. If Maurer gets the nod, which I have my doubts, then Idk what to think. On one hand I know he can do it. He’s proved it. And I know he can do it again. But on the other, I think “poor kid” because look at some of you now. Some of you think just like Pruitt and still don’t want to give the kid a chance. Some of you want to criticize him over his stat lines KNOWING he’s never had the luxury of facing anything less than an SEC defense and two of his mere 4 starts were against the nations best. Now here we are, same time next year and he gets to face Alabama again. Lord forbid he have a bad game, the wolves will be out.
You’re not kidding! I’d never have to defend my opinion again. Wouldn’t that be nice. I’ve tried to explain this to others in the past and you seem level headed enough to understand. He did what he did last year on raw talent because he’d only been in the system for 6 months at the time with very little “attention”. So naturally he’s going to “stare down” his preferred option. He doesn’t know the plays well enough to KNOW where option 2/3/4 is as opposed to having to look for them. There’s a reason that freshman stats of a 4 year starter are always the worst that you’ll see from any qb at any level. They tend to get better from year to year with time spent in the system. But there’s been a lot of time wasted on JG as well so I don’t expect him to look like a second year qb at this time.I get that he’s a gunslinger and that’s his mentality, but there has to be a happy medium when you go into a game like this where every possession has to be valued even more than usual. Bama isn’t going to miss a lot of opporutnities to score so we obviously don’t need to give them short fields or pick 6’s. Hopefully he can play under control without it taking away from what makes him, him.
FTR I’m done with others making the 2/5 argument from last year. Dobbs was a 2/6 his Freshman year, but we could see potential. I’m not saying your guy is Dobbs, but I saw a guy who plays fast and decisive football during his limited time. People point out the RZ TO’s vs Miss St and to me that is correctable. IMO He had already made up his mind he was throwing the fade to JJ before he even took that snap instead of taking the checkdown to the slot. Hopefully he that’s something he can learn from. I hope he gets his opportunity tomorrow because i think it could gives us some much needed energy and a fresh look.
I’ll pull 100% for whoever trots out there, but I’ll be very disappointed if that’s the case. I’d say that wouldn’t be a popular choice in the stands or locker room either, but coaches are gonna do what they think is best, right or wrong, regardless of it’s popular or not. I think a change would energize the team and keep Alabama from being able to pin their ears back and teeing off on our QB, but I know nothing. My source (a player on the team) says JG is the starter with a short leash and he feels that HB is slightly ahead of BM on the depth chart... upsetting I wanted to see someone else start but I understand it
I dont exactly like "short leash" that means if he doesn't turn it over we won't see anybody else in any meaningful time.My source (a player on the team) says JG is the starter with a short leash and he feels that HB is slightly ahead of BM on the depth chart... upsetting I wanted to see someone else start but I understand it
Who is “they all”? Obviously JG isn’t among the “one and done”, and last year Brian threw several pics, yet it was injury which pulled him out. I think you are the type that sees something occur, and then applies it with too broad a brush. Let’s see what happens over the next 8 Qtrs. if ball - my prediction is we have new blood at the qb position permanently for the Arky game.THAT^^^They all see that they are one mistake and done.
