So, 247 lists 10 of our current commits as EE's. With all of this COVID madness, is that still accurate? I like when kids get here early and get that head start on their freshman year.

I think the idea that Pruitt is so conscious and concerned about what fans think that he would maneuver his QB situation to “make a point” or to “justify” to Billy in section MM is just...well...silly.

Pruitt ain’t worried about what we think, and what we think has zero influence over who plays on Saturdays. Right, wrong, or whatever, he plays the people he thinks give them the best chance to win.

Let’s see how this plays out the next 2-3 weeks.
If we have a head coach that is concerned about what the fans think even deciding whatb players should play then we need a new head coach. Pruitt is not making personnel decisions based on the opinion of fans.

Lol @ those around the program think JG is still our best option. The only person who thinks that is Pruitt. And Maurer is injured, yet he is the scout team QB and simulated Terry Wilson last week. That means he isn’t injured and they just don’t want to play him. I know VQ is just typing what coach tells them, but I am beyond tired of them trying to paint a picture that JG is our only option. Staff is a joke at developing QBs and handling the QB situation. JG should never take another snap here for his performances.

Don’t get my man @JacketVol started on how Pruitt ignored those kids...that pisses me off Fulmer had to pick up the slack for him then to make up for it like he’s probably gonna have to do it now since he’s so dedicated to a failing QB.f*** s**t. Lead by example as a head coach.the more I think about it the more I’m starting to realize Pruitt has accountability issues.
Pruitt is lucky to have Fulmer as the AD. He does a lot of the a** kissing behind the scenes and helps control a lot of the negative noise.

there were some things that were more or less "knowns" when a) Fumler got the AD job and b) he hired Pruitt
one being that FUlmer wasn't likely going to be an AD here for hte next 10-20 years. his stint has a shelf life. is it 5 years? 7? pushes 10? not entirely sure...but he's not going to be here for 20 years or something. so there's a window of opportunity for him to get what he wants to get done in terms of righting the ship in the UTAD. another being that Pruitt's long term future would probably be determined w/in 5 years...pruitt and fulmer are tied to the hip, and unless Pruitt is knocking it out of the park and has TN back or really close to being back, the next AD may have some decisions to make....

as for the behind the scenes stuff...i'm not privvy....so i'm not gonna speculate, but, i would suspect that IF there were any personalities that have been rubbed the wrong weay, then yes, i would expect Fulmer is the "good cop". and that would be a consideration, IF true, for any new AD that came in, because the new AD would get bombarded by anyone that did get rubbed the wrong way about their tru feelings on all things pruitt....

i don't bring that up to incite or join in on a fire pruitt deal, rather, that there is still a window here for both of these guys. and it probably remains open as long as FUlmer is at the helm, and pruitt doesn't do somethign catastrophic....and i see no signs that would happen....

when things are bad, like they are right now, people with different agendas use that as an opporutinity to 'pile on'. it's been going on all week....

lots of "...and i'll tell ya another thing about pruitt........" from fans and media alike.

All comes down to if he recruits you. Guys your talking about where walk on GUARANTEE scholarships. CJP is not a patient man. When he’s done with you, he discards you and quickly. Maybe that’s good maybe it’s bad.

but we have been told he can’t be done with these walk ons turn scholarship guys.

Or perhaps those that promised that were wrong I guess

I agree for the most part. I don’t think anyone wants Pruitt to be fired at all. Everyone wants him to succeed because that will mean Tennessee is succeeding. I am just stating that Fulmer does a lot of the PR stuff and dealing with upset VFL’s. Most of the time the coaches can get a brunt of the negativity, but Fulmer has really helped in that aspect. And like Jacket has said, Pruitt definitely has his favorites but I am sure every coach does. But when one of your favorites is literally causing us to lose games, you have to move on and he isn’t. I don’t believe for one second that Maurer is injured. I just don’t think he wants to play Maurer and he is in the dog house. I have no proof of this but things are not adding up and I do know that Maurer has been playing scout QB. How can you play scout QB if you are injured? Maurer showed the most promise out of any QB last year. He could be reckless with the ball but he didn’t have that many snaps either and was thrust into action. My only complaint for Pruitt is him not moving on from JG and getting another QB ready.
