There are people who disagree with me but if I am Salter then I'm watching carefully what happens with Maurer.... and if I am HB I'm doing the same thing. UT really needs to decide on a direction philosophically for the O.

HB/JG aren't the same kind of QB as BM/Salter. I think Shrout is kind of in the middle mobility wise.

This. The idea he's going to play significant amounts of time in front of HB are borderline delusional. Perhaps if HB gets hurt or is out for Covid then Maurer plays. Otherwise he's a career back up like Shrout is as long as they are on The Hill. Perhaps Maurer could do well at Cincinnati, Tulane, Western Michigan, or UT Arlington but he's just not a P5 QB IMO.

Slightly off topic, but I went back and skimmed through every offensive series in the 2018 bammer game, where JG got throttled, did nothing and got knocked out of the game down 28-0. Then Chryst IMMEDIATELY moves the ball right down the field and looks 9 billion times better than JG ever has. Why did Chryst not play? I remember asking myself that in 08, but I was not as tuned in as I am now.

Why in all things holy was Chryst not the starter from then on? Was because they were trying to....oh...idk... DEVELOPE A QB FOR THE FUTURE???

Because they adjusted and he looked like garbage from them on...including against Mizzou and Vandy. If he had been a Gardner Minshew in this offense (Pruitt did look at him) then he would have closed out the season imo. I’m not excusing his stance on JG SINCE then...but Chryst wasn’t a miss.

If the past is any indication you may want to hit record. Maurer was looking good last year against those guys.


Doesn’t mean he’d do it again but who knows? The game hasn’t been played yet and we don’t know if he’s the guy.

Hope he plays tomorrow from 1st snap til lights out. Having played ball thru HS, I would love for all the armchair pussboys here that say he is fragile to get hit just 1 time by a 240lb SEC linebacker running a 4.5...which is about 20mph.

Force= mass x acceleration

That mouth yall run is several orders of magnitude tougher than your ass is...guaranteed. Dude weighed 195 last year soaking wet and yall wanna talk like he is fragile because he got concussions when guys twice his size dropped him on his head...lmao....he needs to learn to slide, no doubt...but you can't knock a kid for giving up his body trying to get an extra yard.

DUDE!!!!! Thank you! I can’t like that comment enough because that’s EXACTLY how I feel. I’m sorry but that hit he took from UGA showed all the toughness he’ll ever need as a qb and would’ve likely hurt someone else more seriously.

I’ll be recording it, I’m in the conspiracy theory that Pruitt doesn’t want to be a head coach, he wants to go back to just being a DC. So, I got to see if this theory gains any traction, all I got right now.
