He has made more money than you and I probably ever will, never took heat and never took a hit. I'd trade jobs with him in a heartbeat.

Not sure why y'all remember the Bray years so fondly. It was rare that the Vols were ever in a close game but when they were, it was rare that he made a play to win the game.

so so defense? lol they were the worst defense in UT history and directly led to 6 out of the 7 losses....we scored enough to win 9 or 10 games that year

Either way, if he’d of just stuck with a 4-3 base defense, and not switched to a 3-4 they probably still win 10-11 games. Sunseri was a walking disaster, and was the final nail in Dooley’s coffin.

He could fill up a highlight reel with pretty throws, there's no doubt about that. He also was a headcase, had a terrible attitude at times, and never quite brought it against good defenses like he did against bad ones. In the video in the OP, a lot of those throws were against garbage defenses.

BS Miss State, UGA, Florida had outstanding defenses. Yea he played terrible against Bama but who didn't?

I don't think Miss St had an "outstanding" defense that year. I didn't say all of the throws were against garbage defenses - I said a lot of them were.

Based on your reply to this post and my other post you responded to, I think you have reading comprehension problems.

I knew Dooley was effed when a few days after the season ended, I saw "Justin Wilcox leaving Tennessee to take same position at Washington" scroll across the bottom of ESPN. He'd already had the embarrassing loss to Kentucky, and now he was going to have to replace an important assistant. I'd pay good money to be a fly on the wall of whatever room Saban was in when he found out that Dooley had hired Sunseri.

Being great in college at least leads to competent in the NFL as a backup. If you agree with that, we copacetic. Bray wasn’t a great college QB. He threw good.

That’s not entirely true. He had some stinkers to be sure and had a crap attitude. But in 2012 he lit up a Clowney led South Carolina as well as Georgia. He never fulfilled his potential but he would have been remembered much more kindly had he a defense to actually close games. In 2012 we lost 4 games where scored more than 30 points. He deserves credit

He did play well against Carolina that year, but the turnover bug got him against good teams (Florida, Georgia, Alabama). Also served up a stinker against Miss St that year (13/24 for 148 yds, 1 INT). And he totally gave up, along with the rest of the team, in the Vandy game.

The thing about Bray was that when he looked good, he looked gooood. He seemingly put up better stats against garbage teams that consistently good QBs put up against garbage teams. The throws and the stat lines were really pretty, and that's mostly what people remember.
