Patience is going to be required with the change. Its not going to result in immediate success.

Its not an excuse but a fact, the covid offseason took early options away. Now we are playing catch up.

Im just out of patience with what we ve tried.
agreed.

Small took himself out after one run. Looked like a potential separated shoulder to me
You obviously know, because you mentioned at least twice last week about Alontae, and no one answered your kind of question/statement. I didn’t even know Alontae was hurt last week. So, I guess Small is out this week.

He threw a duck. I don't know if the ball slipped from his hand or what, but it was a definite wobbler. And I think the pressure was very much on him. He may not have dug the hole, but he was being asked to dig us out of it. At that point, we weren't considered out of the game yet. I think there was still a very real expectation we could come back. Again, losing to KY in Neyland just doesn't happen. That was the mentality IMO. Only it did happen. One TO and he's yanked. It took 3 to get JG yanked, and that's not counting the 3 in the second half of the UGA game. I'm not saying Shrout's the answer, but I am saying it's not like he got a legit shot in comparison.
oh, i don't think either one, maurer or shrout, got a "legit" shot. they got put in.......................but really, really short leash.

Yea I couldn’t believe taylor was never mentioned last week

Dont buy that.
He got pulled at UF. And didn't get the job back until UK. And it wasn't because he didn't get a chance on the field in between. He then got pulled again in the bowl game. Its not like this was the first or second time the decision had to be pondered.

Eventually the players (who aren't stupid) are going to ask, "why are you having to sell us on doing this again?" That roller coaster gets old once. Twice?

2019 and 2020 are not the same.
and yet they are....lol.

yeah, and i remember when that happened, we were all thinking "hahahah...Saban ain't so scary now is he?"
oof.

of course, it's not an "If/then" either.....you'd prefer to just not have the bad losses.......................................................................................................
Of course 👍... it’s just nice to remember that it has happened to the best of them

If I’m Pruitt, I’m starting Maurer against Bama (supposedly was scout team qb to simulate KY QB) and have JG be backup. If Maurer is terrible at half, then see what JG can do. Maybe Maurer lights it up or keeps us competitive and we see a different team. Then with the bye week, give all the reps for QB to Bailey and Maurer. They are your 1 and 2 going forward. IMO....
sure. why not. this is as good as any other plan we have right now. lol.

#LiftUpDrew

@engineerVOL just read your update on Go Fund me. I just wanted to let you know that I pray for Drew and all of your family every day. Your brother's words are very uplifting and I very fervently hope for the very best possible outcome for all of you. I encourage all of you to go and read this update. It's also still not too late to donate to this beautiful family. Love and prayers.

Healing for Drew!, organized by Scott Warren

My dude is the toughest. Next up is a 5-week break at home. Chemo starts after Thanksgiving. God is able. I do not know how people go through stuff like this without faith holding them together like glue.

Side note: the day my brother shared this news few months ago, a new song was on the radio the instant I got off the phone (It’s gonna be ok by Tasha Layton). And just now when he sent me this picture, the same song came on. I’m a wreck. Life is so precious.

These exact type post were made a year ago and proven very wrong.

How about we trust the competitive character of our players and realize that they are going to play there ass off for the T on their Helmets and for JG or any other QB??
Trust the competitive character of our players? When we just watched our DL quit in the 2nd half against KY and get rail-roaded? Okay. You go right along with that philosophy my man!

Regardless, last year is different than this year. We tried Maurer and it was obvious he gave the team energy. Then when we went to the QB roulette, JG played decently. Plus, we had really great senior leaders at every level of the defense last year. Now, its a totally new year, yet the same deflating JG. At some point, it takes a tole on the team. It appears to have reach that point.

My comments to Jeremy that he will never read or know about.

Change the QB to HB, change the trajectory of the program. At this point we would even take Maurer since at least he has a pulse and wants to do what it takes to win. JG and Shrout have proven they do not want to do what it takes to win or they would have done it in their "opportunities", especially JG. Does he have photos of something? At this point the program is teetering on going back to being a bottom feeder despite having better talent than during those dark days. We realize this is all new to you since you were at established winners at Bama, UGA and FSU with loads of talent. So learn from your mistakes as a first time HC and don't make them again, which is what you tell your players.

For HB starting - you have two senior receivers who are willing to go get the ball and hold onto it in traffic - Palmer and Johnson. Chaney needs to get them the ball along with any of the others who HB has chemistry. Let Gray do his thing at RB and feed him 20-25 times a game including passes in space. Teach at least one TE to find the opening in the zone underneath, to turn around and catch the ball for 5-7 yards. Throw that pass on first or second down - not when the D is expecting it. Give HB the authority to check into those type passes. On third down and long you need the TE to stay in to block on the edges at least until the OT's do better at it. You need Gray out on those passes, not using him as a midget to block blitzers. Chandler should be used only as a change up to give Gray a breather. Keep it simple, but effective. Watch how the unit responds overall. Then make adjustments and feed HB more of the O as he gains experience.

Or go 3-7, 4-6 and be on the hottest of seats for 2021 by playing your QB while losing the fanbase like Dools and Botch did in the previous decade.
Good night, brother! Is that available on Audible.

Great smile, prayers Drew has a great 5 weeks at home with family. Continued prayers as he starts Chemo.

I have the normal side effects from having prostate remove but I feel great. Go back to doc tomorrow for follow up and I assume PSA check. I guess that’s when I’ll really know.

Thanks for asking.
If you don't mind me asking, did you have the traditional or laparoscopic prostatectomy?

Anyone think Holliday plays some QB?

Bama & Saban are notorious for not doing well against a running QB. Wonder if he could give us a wrinkle, he may be the fastest guy on the team.
Would be a really cool to see and would be a great change up, however, I don't have much confidence CJP and staff have prepared any other qb other than JG.

I’m not making a thread yet because he hasn’t entered the portal, but I’d expect McKenzie Milton to likely transfer from UCF.

If that name sounds familiar, it’s because he was the QB during UCFs 13-0 run in 2017. Was considered one of the most exciting players in college football, and was in the Hiesman race I think all year that year. On the smaller side at 5’11 and a dual threat, but Looked like an NFL guy for sure.

He had a pretty gruesome knee injury back in 2018 that shelved him for over 2 seasons. Similar to what happened to Alex Smith. Now he’s pretty much fully recovered and has been scout team QB for them this past week. It’s unlikely he plays there again because they have a sophomore (Dillon Gabriel) that’s been playing pretty well and they’ve stuck with him for the past season and a half.

Like we probably should’ve with D’Eriq King, this would be a smart move to go after him. That is if you feel like Bailey needs an extra year.

UCF's Milton (knee) runs scout team, eyes return

Agreed. Would expect most Grad Transfer QB's to be on our radar for next year and this is whether Bailey needs an extra year or not. The QB room needs more competition.

Salter
Bailey
Grad Transfer QB

Should be a much more competitive room than we have now.

Go after him anyways. We will probably only have Bailey and Salter going into next year that should play. I bet Shrout and Maurer transfer and we can only pray that JG moves on. Let those three battle it out. Blows my mind that UCF has more talent at QB than we do.

Just read the update on Drew. Continued prayers for you and your family.

And @SweetasSoda...gracious girl. Keep your head up, the enemy is looking for weaknesses. Been going through my own stuff but my wife gave me some perspective that instantly made me...cry...but feel better. As bad as this year has been and as much as we have dealt with in our own family (which pales in comparison to so many in here), the one thing that we continue to be blessed with is Ashlee continues to be a healthy girl...and sweet as ever.

Prayers for all of you dealing with family illness and all the other sh** (because that's exactly what this year is) that this year has brought.

Here's a picture of Ashlee, maybe it'll brighten some spirits for y'all. She's my daily reminder to be thankful. I'm not ashamed to say she (and her sisters too) has me wrapped around their finger.
Wow, she’s so big now 🙂
