I think Pruitt should have joined him, he might have learned somethingPruitt made a comment that he was leaving the office at 1am last week and saw lights on. When he went to check, it was To'o To'o sitting in the linebacker room studying Kentucky film, putting in the work...at 1am. THAT was the comment.
Wake up. Practice time is very limited to begin with. Add the virus that completely stopped practice altogether. Add to that CJP is just getting his entire 2nd full recruiting class to school and then there was at least two occasions where there were over 40 players out for 14 day stretches for "contact tracing". Some of those players had to go through the process twice.
I actually studied USCjr's practices and they were way ahead of us as far as scrimmages, full contact etc....I really expected them to lay it on us. Look at LSU who hired Bo Pellini to replace Aranda at DC.....look at UF's current status and their defense so far this year under Grantham that is usually highly ranked. This virus is impacting teams in different ways and some are more fortunate than others and that's just the way it is. Fulmer hired a good football coach but this bi-polar, fair-weather fanbase, expects a miracle worker to go undefeated and win the national championship with a freshman QB who's probably practiced a total of 20 days since he enrolled in January.
Lastly, think of a recruit of our current 7th ranked class who may read the posts on this board and all the negativity. Is this the way true fans show their support?
If these comments are true, #1, that's really really bad and #2, Tennessee has a true sophomore that has more leadership than the 5th year QB.Has anyone mentions how #11 said he was the only LB watching video and he needed to bring more teammates with him going forward? I’m not sure how he meant, it sounded to me like much of the team wasn’t spending the time necessary to get better in the film room.

This is Why he is our best player. Putting in the work! It pays off!Pruitt made a comment that he was leaving the office at 1am last week and saw lights on. True...You study as much as you need to study... then you stop studying. I was a good student. I "broke the curve" in a couple of classes most considered GPA killers. Simple formula. Read the reading assignments at least twice. Take good notes and review them over the 2 to 4 days before the test. On the night before the tests while my friends were pulling all nighters in the library... I went to the gym, played basketball, and got a good night's sleep.
Point is you can burn yourself out by doing too much. It should not be assumed that everyone will benefit from watching film at 1 AM.
Well that makes more sense. At 1:am banks is just getting out for a night of relaxing and a police accountability meetingPruitt made a comment that he was leaving the office at 1am last week and saw lights on. I take it you can’t spell his name?Has anyone mentions how #11 said he was the only LB watching video and he needed to bring more teammates with him going forward? I’m not sure how he meant, it sounded to me like much of the team wasn’t spending the time necessary to get better in the film room.

I played HS football before NC slapped time limitations on practice. Our signal that sprints were about to start was when it was too dark to scrimmage.True...
But its different with Football. Getting ready for a test or class discussion is not the same as visual reps and physical memory association that film helps with. Peyton became addicted to it.
Akin it to learning a foreign language. You have to want it to learn. Truly learn. And when you want it so much, the you don't even have enough time in the day to study everything you want. This is why Henry T is so good. He was doing this with Pruitt during his recruiting.
Peyton Manning is the best example. Watching film became his thing. And his ability to manipulate defenses grew as a result.
It shouldn't be an obligation. It should become a insatiable hunger to be a master of your football position and aspect of the game, by waching film
Quality not quantity. You study as much as you need to study... then you stop studying. I was a good student. I "broke the curve" in a couple of classes most considered GPA killers. Simple formula. We probably watched the previous game and our new opponents a couple of hours in Monday’s. That was the late 70’s. What years did you play and was it HS or college ?I played HS football before NC slapped time limitations on practice. We routinely watched 4 or 5 hours of film on Monday before preparing for the next game. Later someone told me that was a lot more than most of our opponents. I get that. But there is such a thing as overload... and some guys just have a higher capacity than others. Some of those guys would begin to think too much if they did what HT does.
I'm not arguing the baseline should not be raised. Maybe a lot of the guys aren't committing enough time to film study. My point is simply that not everyone can keep up with a guy like HT... not even pretty good players.
1979-1981. 14-0, 7-3 (lost 3 times to two state champions), 11-2 (lost 7-6 in the state semis to the team that won the state in a laugher)We probably watched the previous game and our new opponents a couple of hours in Monday’s. Edit: I see you referred to HS.

I think your worms have entered your brain (Pink Floyd anyone?). I’m just playing.Agree completely
I'm not here defending or attacking Pruitt (other than him needing to mail JG back to Jersey using parcel class) but there is a reason this season "doesn't count".
NCAA is a joke yes but thwy got this right.
The fan demand is the only reason they're having games at all
These fans need to be thankful even if it is not good watching TN at the moment.
How much would thwy be bitching if football wasn't being played at all?
Good post that most overlook trying to be the loudest hater

I thought the most revealing quote from that segment was when he was asked what happened in the second half and he answered we just weren't prepared for what they threw at us.Has anyone mentions how #11 said he was the only LB watching video and he needed to bring more teammates with him going forward?
