I was feeling better. Wrestling with my daughter and son. Chasing them around the house and acting goofy. Then this evening my fever came back and I’m back to feeling awful. It’s day 4 so I figured it was almost over. This Covid ain’t no joke, brother.
I know it's not. Really hope you can get back to wrestling very soon!

Prayers for all who are in pain this morning. A lot going on right now and sometimes we need to put things into perspective.

Football....we will get there. It may just take longer than what we had hoped.

Health ..... don’t take it for granted. Give thanks if your healthy and reach out to those in need.

A lot of people on this board are in pain. My prayer is you and yours find comfort during these difficult times.

Well, I have been blessed with so much going on starting on the GA Saturday that I have really not cared. We had a stomach virus then our son called from ER thinking he was having a heart attack especially after the aspirin helped. Test showed his heart was fine, but he has Barrett's esophagus which was acting up plus a panic attack on top of it. When he was operated on for the esophagus 12 years ago, they told us to watch because cancer develops sometimes. My niece went to the cancer center today. The doctor said the lumps under her arms and groin he thinks are cysts that can be removed, but the ones on chest and breast that are going up and down he is concerned about so set up a Cat Scan...have to wait until November 2. Husband is getting worse. And my German Shepherd's hip dysplasia is getting really bad so...... Don't y'all feel better now! Probably not. I tried.
Wow. All I can say is one day at a time. Truly hope your niece has nothing to worry about and truly hope your husband realizes he needs help. So very sorry. All the prayers I can muster are yours.

Correction: we had the ball 4 minutes longer than did UK in the first half. After that and the half time rest, UK comes out on their first possession and has their way with our defense. That's the way it was much of the 2nd half. Had nothing to do with our defense being on the field too long. In the 2nd half UK did lead in time of possession, but that was as much because our defense played bad and didn't get off the field as it was our offense.
How are you doing?

Tidbits from 3&Out that I pray are not true:

Bailey was out a lot for contact tracing, but did still practice more than what is being led on. They said when he came back that they gave him 10 reps and they were awful. So Pruitt decided to just get two QBs ready and Bailey kind of “disappeared.”
Maurer is fine. They said he played scout QB to prepare for KY for his running ability. Basically said they just don’t want to play him.
The scrimmage last Sunday was the first time they really let Bailey play and he balled out. It made Pruitt realize that he is actually really good and they are trying to get him ready as quick as possible.
They do not understand how this coaching staff thought that JG and Shrout should be the only real QBs getting reps when we saw how bad they could play last year.
No one is even mad at JG. He is who he is. They said our coach should have known an implosion could come at any time. Fans and anyone who covers sports knew it could take one game and our coach acted like it was fine.
They talked about Jordan Rodgers breaking down JGs picks and how bad they were. They said in the type of coverage they ran, you can never throw those balls. They are dumbfounded how Pruitt keeps playing JG over and over after mistake and mistake when any other player would have been pulled immediately and chastised.
They said we would have been better off firing Butch after year three when you had the signs that he wasn’t the guy. We waited too long and it caused our climb to take longer. They think if this season goes completely down the drain and Pruitt continues to play JG, you may have to start having real conversations about the trajectory of our program.

I find it hard to even listen much less pay attention to all that considering I’ve never heard of this 3&Out...and I really scour for info when I can. Podcasts, pages, etc. Seems too convenient to start bringing it out now since we’re struggling some.

Who does this show, please?

That Gump better get his program in order or his azz is gone. He won’t be fired this year but he’s starting to look like a PE teacher. The Kentucky loss is only 11 points off from what Georgia did to Butch. He does care for these kids unlike our former maniac but the program under Bubba Gump is going to crash with him playing 💩 boy.

Just looking at this team and being honest about what needs to fixed, if we can do that without being attacked as "negative" or accused of "screaming for Pruitt's head", these are the things I see that coaches need to work on.

QB - Weinke needs to be spending his time with Shrout, Maurer, and Bailey. One of those 3 has to step up and supplant JG. Whatever is preventing them from being "ready" needs to be addressed, because JG is not the answer.

OL - Friend needs to be working with our OTs on pass blocking. We're fine on run blocking, but our Tackles struggle with getting beat when pass blocking. He needs to work with the entire line on discipline and remaining locked. This line is experienced enough we shouldn't be seeing so many false starts. Everyone needs to be clear on assignments.

RB - You can't fix size, but you can emphasize keep your momentum. Enough with the stutter steps and the pauses. Keep yourself north and south. Try to hit your tackler harder than he's hitting you. They need to be more physical IMO, and they need to learn to pass block. Not only that, they need to work on knowing when to release and become an outlet. I wish we had a big bruiser to add to the mix, but without moving Banks or Crouch, we don't. Unless Hodges can play that role, or Whitehead, but I don't recall having seen either play. Graham needs to teach these guys how to play like he did.

WR - Route running is always top of the list IMO, but blocking and separation are definitely near the top. Precise routes will help with separation. I still contend part of the problem is not having a good QB. Tee needs to get those young speedsters ready so we van have some legit deep threats that can run past defenders.

TE - I'm not sure what Osovet is supposed to do with the personnel he has, but maybe he can work a miracle. TE is a big recruiting need so hopefully one of these guys committed to us is the real deal. Not sure if this can be fixed with who we currently have on roster.

DL - It'll be interesting to see if Pruitt can get a push from these guys. I still contend the biggest weakness on defense is the lack of a pass rush. Between Pruitt and Feldon, they have to find that DE/OLB that can consistently get to the QB. I've seen a few misalign our DL, but this line had two goal line stops against UGA. They also had a 4th down stop in that first half. They're good against the run, they struggle getting to the QB with a pass rush. Really not so dissimilar from our OL.

OLB - Priority to me is pass rush. Already said it. Have to work on shedding blocks, need to be better in short coverages, need to do better tackling. Tackling applies to the whole defense.

ILB - Toot is great, but we need to get the whole Banks/Crouch thing figured out. Both are very raw.

DB - IMO, this has been the most disappointing unit on defense. Two elite coaches of the position, but subpar play. I think the biggest thing to fix is keeping their heads in the game. More often than not, the mistakes seem to be boneheaded lapses in judgement. They need to do better at recognizing routes and getting jumps. Reading the QB is key. And again, tackling.

The entire team needs better discipline. The kick to the groin in the KY game reaffirmed my belief in that. Crap like that shouldn't even be a thought that crosses our players' minds.

I guess I just really expected we'd be farther along than we are. So many things I thought would be fixed by now just aren't, and that's frustrating as hell as a fan. And some aspects actually seem like they've regressed. Not sure if it's because of Covid, or coaching choices, but the energy this year is not what I expected it would be. Seems like other teams were able to get around it, but not us. Again, frustrating. We've languished in mediocrity for over a decade. As a fan, I want more. Sorry if that angers some, but I feel like we've missed out on some opportunities, and some of that is on coaching. Saying that doesn't mean I want Pruitt fired. I want him to do better. Not sure what's wrong with wanting a high paid coach to do better.
I think this is a well thought out and reasinaboe post.

I’m not sure how many people want to acknowledge it may be a reason, but IMO the effect Covid had on our team is very evident. Young receivers/linebackers/QB couldn’t develop properly which has resulted in their lack of playing time. Dline/OLine and secondary have been in/out and have given us a mixed bag.

I would argue outside of Bama, UGA’s defense/Florida’s offense, and Arkansas (wtf) you could make this point for every team in the SEC. I think in the case of Alabama/UGA and Florida a lot of it is talent masking the effect vs their competition. All of the other teams in the SEC have been very up and down thus far. Just look at LSU or Auburn for prime examples.

Nate Hodge and Houston Kress, throw Russell Smith’s show in there and you have The 3 Stooges. I can’t get past 10 mins of any of them. Talk Sports with Jon Reed from noon-3pm is much better.
If you want all vols talk then tune in to 3&Out or the Drive on fox sports. if you want 5 minutes of vols then 1.99 hours of NBA/NFL talk then Reed is the better one to tune into. I personally switch between Basilio and The Drive and sprinkle in some 3&out or Jon Reed on occasion.

I definitely prefer the Vols content over NBA/NFL but I can’t stand listening to the hosts long enough on the other shows.

Won't be fired until he gets his second extension and guaranteed money.

Edit: I am not advocating for him to be fired. I want him to stop the insanity of starting number 2 and get back to the players running through a brick wall for him.

Just read the update on Drew. Continued prayers for you and your family.

And @SweetasSoda...gracious girl. Keep your head up, the enemy is looking for weaknesses. Been going through my own stuff but my wife gave me some perspective that instantly made me...cry...but feel better. As bad as this year has been and as much as we have dealt with in our own family (which pales in comparison to so many in here), the one thing that we continue to be blessed with is Ashlee continues to be a healthy girl...and sweet as ever.

Prayers for all of you dealing with family illness and all the other sh** (because that's exactly what this year is) that this year has brought.

Here's a picture of Ashlee, maybe it'll brighten some spirits for y'all. She's my daily reminder to be thankful. I'm not ashamed to say she (and her sisters too) has me wrapped around their finger.
Precious!!! TY! My 4 grandkids give me more joy than I ever thought was possible just by seeing joy on their faces like she has in that pic. You think that is happiness, but just wait until you get to hold Ashlee's baby! She is so precious. So thankful she is doing well!
