He may not be right, but I wouldn't want a coach so sackless as to sway with the whims of the fans either.

I also think he's being cordial here and we'll see someone else by Arkansas. Not sure bout Bama...may not want to kill anyone else's spirit.

I agree to an extent. Fans may not like who you play sometimes, but if you are winning they will still come. When you are losing and one of the main reasons is QB, people will grow weary. Fans and donors are the lifeblood of the program. Once those start to turn, it is only a matter of time until you are fired.

This is why many VFL’s pushed for Tee. He probably wasn’t ready but he would do everything he possibly could to get this program back. Pruitt is just collecting a paycheck and I am not even sure he was ready for this job either. I know 100% that if Tee was coach, JG would not be the quarterback here.

He is just like Barnes. If a higher offer came and he felt it was a better opportunity, he would go. Do you really think he wouldn’t bolt if Bama called? Of course he wants to win and show that he is a great head coach, but that does not mean that he has some loyalty to this program.

Why on earth would he not be "allowed" to coach? Does this mean he was doing things illegally and Sanky/SEC just looked the other way because it was bama, but said he couldn't come back or they'd have to "out" him? Makes no sense.

I don’t think Saban likes anyone, especially not Kiffin.

I doesn’t bother me Pruitt hired people he didn’t get along with. It bothers me that he hired them knowing that up front, and then fired them for that very reason (apparently).

Oh I certainly agree. A coach will live or die on his decisions and he is accepting of that.

From a coach's perspective, losing while making fans happy is silly. He'd rather try his best to win and they be unhappy during the process. And if doesn't work out, he'll accept he didn't get the job done on his way out. I think most coaches are fine with that agreement. Real ball coaches are just that and not yes men to anybody, certainly not fans or tv commentators.

I was a freshman in 98 and loved Tee, but we have to get over that. If you don’t see Pruitt’s fire, then it has clouded your judgment. Maybe he isn’t making a correct decision, but I don’t understand suggesting this. This is the classic fan’s fallback.

The only thing I care about is winning. I care about being competitive against our rivals. We are not doing that. Did I say I wanted Tee? I said former players did and they did want Tee. But keep on.

Fire? He’s out there bitching about his offensive players not tackling better and making other excuses for this loser he’s got at QB. You know other players see that and wonder what the point is. Why put in effort if coach is gonna play favorites?

I thought Pruitt was the man but the way he’s handled the QB situation is inexcusable. If JG doesn’t play again I’ll change my tune, but to keep putting that kid out there is cruel to the players, coaches, the fans, and JG. It just doesn’t make any damn sense. That guy shouldn’t take the field again unless he’s the only other option. I would play Holliday over JG.
