Maurer's first start was UGA which had a better D than this year's Bama D. Two weeks later coming off a head injury... he started vs a Bama D that was also better than this Bama D.

Someone else needs to start... this week.

Why? Do you really believe the brain trust of Chaney/Wienke will have anyone other than JG ready? I sure as hell don’t.

It's hard to bench a bad quarterback when the backups are just as bad or worse. The problem isn't that Pruitt will not bench him. The problem is this staff hasn't recruited a good enough quarterback to surpass JG. Bailey has missed too much time to have had the opportunity at this point. Another thing to think about, Chaney didn't recruit Bailey to Georgia he inherited him at Tennessee. Georgia actually from what I've heard didn't even go after Bailey.

Yes. I think if they're given control of who is prepared and plays this week... the starter will not be JG... and he may not be the back up.

I could be wrong... but I don't think I am. And the way this has played out makes me even more confident.

Pruitt just fired a guy after 4 games. He's obviously not afraid to hold people accountable when he sees it. So if he were neutral on the QB situation and Chaney/Weinke were running JG out there while playing like he's played... Pruitt would have come off the top rope. Instead, he defended JG and criticized the play call rather than JG's decision.

I believe that Pruitt has dictated that JG start. I think he made that decision in January '19 and is still clinging to the idea that he was right the whole time... at least until the last game. I think Chaney wanted more of a real competition last year. I think Chaney possibly with some help from Fulmer got the change made last year for the UGA game. I believe that Chaney knows JG's limitations and very likely wants to move on.

Yes. I think if Chaney is allowed to choose any of the other three but particularly Maurer or HB that he and Weinke will have them prepared to play.

Chaney hardly let justin Fields on the field at Georgia, and ran him off to Ohio st.
I guess he didn’t recruit him either?

Fulmer hasn't been involved in any direct football decisions such as who might/might not play. If he has, then the problems up there are even worst than we know

Bailey missed time but Pruitt is supposedly on the record he did not want to waste time on a 4th string Qb because he did not look good in the 10 practice snaps he received prior to the season. An idiot decision if that is true.

My main point is we should have better quarterbacks on the roster, we don't

That has nothing at all to do with what I said
Yes I think it does.
What you said are a bunch of assumptions based on your opinion and hearsay!
You assume the backups are no better, you saw them last year sparingly,
You assume Chaney doesn’t want Bailey because you hear he didn’t recruit him at UGA

It's easy to bench a bad quarterback but Weinke can't develop a QB and Friend couldn't teach his guys to block for them even if Weinke was competent. The problem isn't that Pruitt will not bench him but that Pruitt is in over his head without having Saban as a boss and NFL picks all over the place. The problem is this staff can't develop anything along the line or at QB. Bailey has missed too much time and the current staff thinks their development of JG is the answer. Another thing to think about, Chaney didn't recruit Bailey to Georgia he inherited him at Tennessee. Georgia actually from what I've heard didn't even go after Bailey but that's beacuse they had other 5* on campus and they thought Pittman would be around since he is competent in his job.

Minor tweaks to your post (bolded)
