You’d think they’d let that reason be known if that’s the case. The fan base is fragile enough. So, I don’t believe the Brumbaugh firing was on field related, at least not totally.
You don’t fire an assistant coach that quickly and pay $500k or so in the process without there being some personal issues.
What about Felton? Edge guys are suspect af besides DJ.....rn.
Baron is boof, Mojo needs to take his snaps.
Pruitt better pray Bailey plays well and leads this team to a strong finish. It seems like we have no other options at QB even though Maurer showed promise. His biggest coaching mistake was not getting a grad transfer QB and not moving on from JG and Shrout. We should have taken two grad transfers and let those two walk. It scares me that he thought we would be ok with them as our primary QB’s. There are no for sure wins other than Vandy, but would anyone be satisfied with three wins in year three? Our recruiting class would tank and you might as well start over then. Just IMO.
I don't think losing Brumbaugh is some major loss. I'd guess there is a GA or analyst who can fill that role. You’d think they’d let that reason be known if that’s the case. The fan base is fragile enough.

My guess is Pruitt felt like:
1) Brumbaugh was not gelling with the rest of the staff. Maybe effort or attitude related.
2) He saw the entire team and staff quit on Saturday, so he decided to send a message and Brumbaugh was the easiest target.
Easiest target
No prior relationship
Sends a message, get serious or you’re fired.
I don't like to pile on, but our defense had to be out there the whole game due to offensive play.
So true. I watched a man that could literally put work me in a hay field to this day, struggle to take a breath for 2 days. I’ve never seen anything like it. The most hopeless feeling in the world. So sorry to hear man. Easy to second guess others about this mess, but, none of it matters...families are getting torn, losing great people. I'm praying for your family.
Doubtful. Fulmer isn't going to have the university swallow a buyout so Pruitt can "send a message". No way Pruitt acted unilaterally. Also, it would send a bad message to future potential employees. It's unprofessional as hell to fire a guy midseason without legit reason. No one wants to work for you under those conditions.I don't think losing Brumbaugh is some major loss. I don't disagree with your opinion that it's unprofessional, but that still doesn't make me think it's unlikely.Doubtful. 100We are the stupidest fanbase in sports..six quarters of bad play mainly because of one position sucking all to hell...and we are ready to fire our head coach that just ran off eight in a row after taking over the worst Tennessee program of all time, and only has two real classes of his own to use so far...oh and a stupid freak pandemic and the local governments overreaction to it, and overreaching rules basically destroyed a whole offseason of vital development fir a very young team.
But y'all go ahead and keep freaking out and cursing Pruitt and staff for idiots...because that is really going to make it all better..
