I hate hate hate hate the COVID excuse, but im about to use it. Bailey had 10 passes in practice before the season started. He had very little to no chance to work with receivers and get the timing down as well learn how to command the offense. I honestly believe that Bailey would've started game 1 if this COVID BS hadn't happened. After the first two games it looked like JG had turned the corner we didn't turn the ball over and the offense had played well enough to win. Now 2nd half of UGA happens and now JG's confidence is shot. But UGA's a top 5 team we really didn't expect to beat them ( be competitive is a different story). Now UK game gets here JG struggles, you put in Shrout who is the guy you've prepared as the backup, and he makes the same mistake you've been coaching him on for a year and a half. Now here is where its decision time. Do you a) go back to your starter and see if the same thing happens as last year where he plays better off the bench b) run with Shrout and hope he doesn't make another mistake c) in a game you still have a chance in at the moment, run out one of two quarterbacks who have less practice time than their jersey number. We all know what happened. Now here is where the decision comes as a coach we learned Saturday, the team isn't going to play hard when JG makes mistakes. We know JG is in is own head and isn't going to take care of the ball right now and he is back to making stupid mistakes. I think Pruitt not saying JG is our guy during the postgame press conference says it all, I think we see someone new just who that is I don't know. I know who I hope it is but im not the guy that makes that decision.Idk it’s a hard take for me..he’s making millions to make decisions like these..he should know what’s on his bench and the talent separation...JG is damaged goods he’s been here 5 years move on from him.he’s not fixable..why are we not playing for the future? Put in another qb
Listening to Sunday Sports sound off today, Tim Irwin stated that HB has not practiced and is not ready to play. But I don't see that being fixed this year. Coach put all his eggs in the JG basket. Didn't get Bailey ready. Evidently he's not got confidence in Shrout, the second QB he's tried to prep. I get the feeling there is a mad rush to get Bailey ready now. Bama, then an off week. Maybe treating it like a mini camp? That gives them three weeks. I think that's our only hope. If in three weeks, JG is still our "best chance to win", I think we're in deep trouble this year.
He obviously doesn't play like he practices, and he did ok, probably pretty much exactly what they expected from him against USC and Mizzou, so the last 6 quarters of his play probably caught them off guard to a pretty good degree. It makes me sad. And pessimistic about our coaches.

I didn't think he would play that bad against UK..I toothought he could give another USC-Mizzou type of performance and win the game.
Alas Georgia took his soul, and he ain't getting it back.
When mushrooms pop into my yard, I grab a club and smash the hell out of it. It's translated to the course.I have a single digit golf swing into the practice net. Can't complete my backswing on the course and look like an entirely different golfer. Naturally I spend more time hitting into the net to fix it. And naturally there is zero change on the course. And that is JG.

That is definitely on coaches.
I love Maurer and imo him and HB should be the QB's going forward. I just don't know how healthy Maurer is, it should be telling that he is the only QB to not get in the game Saturday. Also yes its year 3 but I think we still look small as a team. A lot of our talent are Freshman and Sophomores who missed months in the weight room which couldn't help development. Lastly, this is a 10 game conference schedule so lets stop and think for a second. 4-6 would be equal to an 8 win season in a normal year.Love this! And to be honest it’s Maurer time..the kid can scramble and he’s show he’s literally willing sacrifice his head to win...I think Pruitt has been unfair to him considering the situation and why he couldn’t play.everytime he had the ball he lead us down the field.
Not necessarily on the coaches. HB was out due to COVID. Him and Maurer should be splitting reps with the ones from here on. Without a doubt those two have the most potential and we need to be fostering that potential as much as possible right now.Listening to Sunday Sports sound off today, Tim Irwin stated that HB has not practiced and is not ready to play.

I agree, if im being realistic and not just hoping Bailey is the future. Maurer is probably the best bet this week.I honestly don’t think it’s Maurer because in game he showed that he could lead and win he just needs reps...maybe I’m wrong idk but some insight would be nice because I feel like EVERYONE should get a look at this point
