Still have to be careful with a young QB when you’re overmatched. Peterman in the Swamp got him hurt and mentally destroyed. Erik Ainge and Casey Clausen were fine because we had players around them. Tyler Bray got his first start against Memphis, when they were horrible.

Pruitt stated that Maurer has been dealing with a hamstring injury I believe. That along with the mental health issues and COVID has set him back some. I still thinik he deserves a shot to play though. Obviously I dont want him playing if he is injured but if he is healthy, even despite the other issues, he cannot be worse than what we have now.

Went to Pitt and was the QB who beat Clemson. Got drafted. Yeah it really mentally destroyed him. If you have wot worry about a blue chip QB becoming mentally destroyed for nothing more than playing against tough competiton, then Bailey is nowhere near the type of QB advertised.

It’s bow season in TN. Muzzleloading starts Nov. 7 and Rifle season 2 weeks later. I still love my Vols but this crap show involving JG is nearly unbearable.

It baffles me that maurer didnt play yesterday. Something strange is going on. Maurer and bailey should be taking ALL the first team reps right now. Why do I feel like Maurer is getting.....no reps?

Scary thing is that we were running the ball so well in the first half against UK that if we just did that exclusively maybe could have won the game (that one long drive where we ran every time and scored - should have kept doing that until they proved they could stop it but we did not stick with it). I don't know if JG is more effective directing those type of plays (in terms of calling adjustments to typse of runs etc) than other QB's, but that is the only reasonable explanation I can think of for why the coaches seem to be so stubborn and want to keep sticking with him.

That was also what I found most surprising. Maybe he still has issues after those concussions last year - can't really think of any other reason why he would suddenly be completely forgotten.

Mauer played part of Fla game. Not same as starting. As for Uga and Bama, he was knocked out of both games. With that said, Mauer gives us some juice, including running ability. I’m just not sure about his head...literally.

He is apparently listed as day to day on the injury list, hamstring.

He pulled by CJP in UGA. He wasnt injured...he took a shot but was not hurt

He got the concussion at MSU...beforw he threw the 2nd..then again vs Bama...he was not injured. CJP did no mention it and troted him out the next week..of in fact he did have a concussion and CJP then he should be fired for cause

I got a feeling Pruitts hands are tied again. Wouldn’t surprise me to see him start next week in the least. He only starts him in games he’s set up to fail

JG should never even take another snap at UT. Never. Ever. I don't care if the other 3 get hurt, you put Holliday back there but never ever JG again.

Wouldn’t it be a Pruitt thing to do? Put him in vs the toughest teams? Set him up to fail without preparation? Idc what people say about BMs stats........ he made a fool of Pruitt last year and this year isn’t looking any better.
