Why hasn our top QB(Harrison Bailey) just take his first practice snaps until last Sunday at a scrimmage. Offers from bama, auburn, florida, florida state, Georgia. Lsu,miami, michigan,Ohio state( it was between Ohio State and TN at the end), oklahoma, and few more others. Pruitt said that about harrison bailey that he hasn't taken any practice snaps until last Sunday. He blamed it on Covid. Basically we didn't have time to waste on him cuz of no spring practice and such. What top QB will want to come here after hearing that? None!!!!

It won't be as much of a concern going forward. COVID screwed Bailey over big time with not getting spring practice in and the Stupid contact tracing stuff this summer and fall. Why college football players need tested for COVID I'll never know. Dumbest thing ever, just like the lock downs.

Given the covid restrictions I can see giving all available reps to the 1,2 qbs. Bailey wasn't expected to be a big part of the rotation so I can understand his limited reps. What I don't get is no improvement by JG and no capable backup options in year 3 of Pruitt's tenure.

I'm also frustrated that our secondary looks so lost given pruitt's history.

Yep you answered your own ? Like someone said
The only caveat would have been to put him in to at least hand off the last series vs UGA, nothing to lose. Would have relieved him the initial butterflies could not understand JG still there with nothing to gain.

I'm so sick of the covid excuse!!!!! Every team has had the aame crap...UGA was able to get reps for newman before he left, Daniels, mathis, and bennett....with covid restrictions...
And what funny is our coach violated covid BS and was fined...CJP is an arrogant bammer....great DC (with elite players) crap HC

JT Daniels has not taken any reps at UGA. Only Bennett and Mathis were given reps.

Bailey - one of the best coming out of high school---- (don't think anyone questions this)

SO - we see 1st year QBs starting for other teams every year and doing well. (not all but quite a few) We on the other hand have a QB who is thought to be a smart guy who can't seem to execute any play (or it's options sent in) nor do the receivers know where to go or their options, the O-line always seem to have one or two guys get mixed up with the options presented by the call. You call this indecision, confusion and lack of communication. Now, what causes these problems? Are our guys stupid, mentally slow,,, I don't think so.(at least no more than than any other team's players)
We keep hearing our QB's are not ready, surely their ability to play the position was not thought to be a total physical work in progress type recruitment. Here I think is where the problem lies!!
From time to time we hear color guys on TV commitment on Chaney's system being a complicated system. Seems so... So much so that the whole offensive team has trouble with it. Looking back at his time with GA. I think I have the impression they had trouble with it from time to time. Not saying it is not a good system, I wouldn't have any idea. However, I just wonder when I watch us being so lost looking, that this is not a great part of the problem. I would like to see us just simplify the offense for awhile. When we run "here I come" plays or pass simple pass patterns, like go long or cut across the middle type patterns we seem to do pretty well.

With a 5th year QB and two other QBs that we here last year, you should not have to dumb down the system. Even when guys are in quarantine, they can learn. Almost everything we have done at work since March has been through Zoom or MS Teams. We train, educate, practice, certify, etc. virtually. We do this online across the globe. There is no excuse for not being creative when the guys are on campus. Every team in the country has the same limitations, so I don’t buy the excuses. Just because someone is in quarantine doesn’t mean they cannot still learn. Stream the practices to those in quarantine, watch the films, read the playbook, set up group chats, study, study, study.

I think the problem is the lack of confidence in JG by the rest of the team. They do not play with a high energy level especially after a poor play or two by JG. The entire team seems to deflate once the bad plays happen. This simply should not occur to teams with veteran leadership. CJP brought in Al Wilson to speak to the team about leadership as I suspect the coaches may think the same way.

In fairness I don’t think UGA participated in the stupid contact tracing BS. I remember reading somewhere that Morris and Wright has been in quarantine multiple times because of contact tracing. I believe Bailey and Maurer were quarantined multiple times as well.

I was not just referencing the QB position. O-line seems to have problems of hesitation and wrong blocks for the play the backfield is running. Wrong routes etc. by receivers. I am not saying the guys can't learn, maybe they have too much to learn under the Chaney system. AND YES!! once things start to fall apart, the team knows "we ain't got a QB who came bring us back... and, hate to say it, but I feel they just say to themselves "what the hell is the use".

Learning what to do in the classroom aint the same as learning on the field. Live reps matter. A Dr spends 15yrs in school but they dnt go just do brain surgery without interning 1st.
