Scrimmage Today (10/11)

This was on TOS (C&P)

Harrison played every snap and from talking to a few people who were on hand, he played pretty well. Wasn’t perfect as you would imagine but threw some nice balls!

Chaney and Weinke were just pushing Harrison to be confident I was told. The word I was told was “solid” in describing his performance.

Isaiah Montgomery had a touchdown. I was told that Tamarion McDonald flashed at safety. I was surprised to hear he was back but apparently made a nice hit or two.

Malachi Wideman went up and caught a pretty good ball. Jalin Hyatt participated along with KeShawn but didn’t participate a great amount. Tee Hodge, Dee Beckwith and Lenneth Whitehead got in some good work at RB. Beckwith flashed the most at tailback.

Morven Joseph got a a handful of reps and continues his progression. - Austin Price

Prepared to see JG trotted out there, again.

"Solid" against the JV defense isn't exactly a glowing endorsement. I think everyone pining over HB are going to have to wait until next year at least. If we see him this year the season has gone completely off the rails IMO.

No typically your team played their guts out and you give them the next day to rest and recover. Obviously the coaching staff feels like these guys have something left in the tank. The O-line should be good to go all day.

Actually, no. Most college teams now do a light practice on Sundays and take Monday off. Research has shown that player recovery is actually aided by moderate physical activity the day after a game. So Tennessee does a practice on Sunday, typically in helmets and shorts, no pads, that is focused on correction of issues from the game, followed by film study. They take Monday off, then have the usual Tuesday and Wednesday practices in pads or shells, finish the install on Thursday and then walk through on Friday.

I wish we had a leader out of the o lineman.
Someone who would get their teammates attention when they messed up.
Great o lines are MEAN. We are not......
Jones ,(first name???) that got hurt and retired a couple years ago seemed to have a mean streak, wish he could still play

Some don't want to hear it. But good Olines are mean and nasty. They know when you have to uhhh.. flex the rules a bit. 😎 It's DEFINITELY NOT for the faint of heart.

If I’m not mistaken, this will be the first scrimmage of the fall, typically there are 4 or 5 in pre season fall practice but thanks to the Knox County Health Dept. contact tracing mandatory 14 day quarantine..this will be the first one and its game 4 week!!

Guarantano will most likely start against Kentucky. And that doesn't mean Pruitt is an idiot or stubborn or whatever other criticism you wanna lob at him. It means he thinks Guarantano gives Tennessee the best chance to win.

But if it's true that Bailey took every snap yesterday, that tells me they're trying to get him up to speed. And that the plan is to get him ready to start at some point this year.

Again, I think starting him against Arkansas after the bye week makes a ton of sense. I'll stick with that prediction.

The report says Tamarion McDonald was back. Was he injured? Didn't hear about him being out.
