Weather forecast for Saturday in Athens:

I still have nightmares about the 2002 Florida game so I never get excited to see a UT team play in the rain.

I was thinking about that too lol. JG is 6'4", Bennett is 5'11"- hand size advantage JG.

Maybe that will help quell your fears a bit ;)

I don't see the rain being advantageous to either team. Georgia's defense is better than Tennessee's and that is where the difference could be made. Tennessee needs to win the turnover battle and steal possessions, JG and Bennett are a wash, Olines are a wash, UT has better RBs and GA has better WRs. If its low scoring, I like Tennessee's chances, Cimaglia will need to nail some long field goals.

The RB Zamir White for UGA is legit.

80% chance of rain...

I think this is a huge plus for the Vols. We will want to slow the game down as much as possible. UGA will have to play more conservatively than they would like to as well.

The rain theoretically should have both teams keeping the ball on the ground which will eat up clock.

Unless we have a couple disastrous plays this should be a close game.
Rain TD’s that’s all I want!

Maybe the Vols will get a lead, the rain will start pouring cats and puppies, and we will start punting on first downs like that UT vs Auburn game (victory) so many years ago.
1973. When it only rained on one end of the stadium.

The picture had to have been taken in the first half. The rain didn't start until the second half, but when it did, we were ahead 21-0 and that was where the score ended.

Based on the way the weather is looking. I wouldn’t be surprised there would be some delays or a cancellation because of lightning.

Based on the current forecast it might not get wet until later in the game if at all. Will be worth keeping an eye on.

I just read that Bennett had jammed his finger on a helmet last week against Auburn. Will be interesting to see if that affects him with rain involved.

If its a heavy rain game WRs wont be a big factor in the big picture. Theyll need to make a catch here and there but we wont see any highlight reel catches today IMO

I live 30 mins outside of Athens and right now it's just a drizzle. Cloudy and hopefully we get some good rain later.
