Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

In covid lunacy I believe I heard the SEC only allows 1 captain per team now so as to limit participants in the coin toss. Are you effing kidding me? And people wonder why coronabros are laughed at by everyone.
I never understood why you needed 6 players 3 refs, 5 camera crew, a guest speaker/coin tosser, the AD, some local politician, and then all the associated ensemble for a coin toss.

Right before they all pile on top of each other and gouge each other's eyes out.

I also caught the local sports radio guys talking about the risk of fines for coaches who don't pull their masks up before talking to players on the sidelines. Do you realize how moronic it is to require people to constantly handle a nasty mask? Same with the refs. I swear they are spreading far more germs than they are stopping.

As I've said, biggest and scariest pandemic in 100 years, but not so big as to cause us to cease knowing if team a can carry a leather covered piece of rubber over a line more times than team b.

What a joke.

3 people max need to be there. No need to televise any of it except the results. It's one of those things that turns a 1 hour long game into a 4 hour affair.

With regards to covid, why have it at all? Do a zoom meeting on Wednesday and notify each team who won the toss. I mean are we going to be safe or not?

Always thought rock paper scissors would be a better method. Only 1 round. No one got time for more we got a game to play. That way it involves some skill to be able to win and maybe gives some walkon a role.

That's about as dumb as manipulating your mask after every bite at dinner.

On a similar note, I just learned today that RPS is also known as "Rochambeau." I was only aware of the South Park game.

Yet another ex-Trump administration member tells it how it is.

Trump's promises of a vaccine by Election Day are "reckless," ousted vaccine director says

It is “irresponsible” for President Trump to suggest a Covid-19 vaccine will be developed by Election Day, according to Rick Bright, the ousted director of the office involved in developing a coronavirus vaccine.

“It’s irresponsible and reckless for the President of the United States to drive the evaluation of something as critical as a vaccine to meet an election timeline,” Bright said to CNN’s Jake Tapper. “…There's no rationale in scientific judgment to move that vaccine to meet that target date. He is not a scientist. He is not a doctor. I say let the scientists do their job.”
Bright said that “scientists are working at breakneck speeds” on a vaccine.

“It is unprecedented to see how fast they are moving through a lot the steps. The one step you cannot rush is the safety evaluation of that vaccine after it's put into people. It takes time,” Bright said.

The US Food and Drug Administration said it will want to see two months of follow-up data after volunteers get their second vaccine doses for clinical trials. That would make it nearly impossible for any vaccine maker to apply for emergency use authorization by Nov. 3.

Yet every other day some media idiot claims someone is close to having a vaccine approved

I'm proud of the efforts made to open schools, Restraint's, bars, Larger gatherings and such. Right now we are in a period of hotspots, so a localized response is required. Our children's education and socialization is of great concern. We were not prepared on the most basic level to handle a pandemic. There are two things I can do: wear a mask, and social distance. Tired of the complaining and blame placing. Trump couldn't stop it and the economic pullback, as measured by GDP, was expected regardless of lockdowns and mandates. We are in pretty good shape right now unless the hotspots explode. Be mindful.

Or they are young and have issues that were exacerbated by being ripped from any social setting (school, sports, etc) and completely isolated for months. But continue to be a clueless ahole if you think it's worth it
I apologize. We're all having to compensate for the deviation from the norm.

Listening to these Sportscenter anchors feign outrage and confusion over how Titans players tested positive for a cold virus makes me want to throw my TV off the back porch.
I saved the tv and just turned it off.

Ps. I think the hotel would have charged me for incidentals if I chucked their TV into their front driveway.
