Trey Smith not mentioned

It is about to get worse. The CBS guys are AWFUL. Danielson should just come out of the closet and confess that he's a UF fan. Neither of those guys even spends enough time on UT's guys to know the names or how to pronounce them. They've said things about UT players that were ignorant... like they'd just made it up or remembered it from a previous team with the same number.

It seems like we are typically the underdog when our games air on CBS. If we want some respect from Gary, we need to show up and win some of the big games on a national stage. This Saturday is a perfect opportunity. Will the VOLS be ready for prime time?

I honestly keep the sound muted most of the time so I usually don’t hear their analysis either way. I realized a few years ago unless I’m in the car and listening to the radio I don’t need a couple of guys (and occasionally a lady) to tell me what’s going on. I THINK I know the game well enough to understand what’s going on and I THINK I know enough about Tennessee as a team too. Just my take on broadcasters. Probably has a little to do with my disdain for media too, sports or otherwise!
I try to use Bob Kesling but he's 5 seconds ahead of the TV here in Greeneville. I do listening at all the breaks to avoid all the bama hype

Verne Lundquist used to nearly pee his pants talking about Tim Tebow.

I have turned off TV sound and listened to Vol Network. It is a few seconds ahead of TV, and though Bob, is, well Bob, Tim Priest has relevant commentary.
I like Tim. Listening to him you know he knows the game.

I don’t remember the game, but when he cussed the goal line playcall of Butch on air was hilarious. I’m sure somebody has that recorded audio file saved.

Danielson is the worst of worst. That ole boy got sacked too many times or is just plain stupid......

Had you been here, you would have heard language that would make Tim blush.
I hated the hornblower.

Think it's just that Cade's first game was last week, so everyone wants to give their opinion on him. Also heard people talking about Wanya's growth. Everybody knows Trey is great.

Cade Mays playing his first game with us was the story. Trey Smith continued to maul people and they know that.

If I'm not at the game I do listen to Vol network for all the post game stuff (well actually I listen to it after the game even if I'm there). I've found I really enjoy the silence interrupted with a few loud outburst from me which quickly subside back to silence (my wife has zero interest and usually is out of the house. Weird to me because playing and coaching is how her dad and uncles put all the kids through college). I did enjoy listening to John Ward with the TV turned down. But I guess we all did.

did anyone notice that the announcers on the SEC Network, when touting how good the offensive line is at UT talked continually about Cade Mays and rarely, if ever mentioned Tres Smith during the Missouri game? For a while, I thought maybe Smith was not even on the field. Cade is a great addition but IMHO Smith got em where they are in terms of being one of the best O lines in college football.
Trey has gotten plenty of publicity. Just calm down son.

The TV announcers haven’t been very good so far. They were atrocious for the USC game and had rambling segues into other stories that weren’t connected at all.

Dave Neal was terrible for the Missouri game. Wouldn’t identify intended receivers, got confused about the Gray fumble that wasn’t a fumble because of defensive holding (“I guess they’re calling it incomplete”), and rambled on instead of addressing the action on the field.

Thats ok, we're about to get the best of the best of the best on Saturday at 330. Love listening to these guys, sometimes just for giggles and that old time nostalgia I pull up their old games and listen for hours on youtube.View attachment 312277
I really dislike Verne and Gary! They may be ok if we’re winning but I really don’t want to hear the Stetson Bennett, Kirby Smart, 3 hour, man crush, love fest, from those two clowns if we’re losing.
Regardless, my television will be muted.
GBO!!

Trey is so good, his extraordinary performance is taken for granted. He's kinda like Freddie Freeman. He's going to hit .300+. He going to drive in 120 runs, and get crucial hits at critical moments. He's going to win another Gold Glove. He's going to start on the All-Star team, and he'll be in the conversation for MVP, EVERY DAMN YEAR. Freddie might even win it this season. Trey's consistency is becoming almost unnoticed, by less than avid viewers.
