Alontae has been playing lights out.I refuse to believe our secondary is as bad as they've played. They should be the strength of the defense. Hopefully Alontae will have his head screwed on right next week and the safeties give him some help. On paper and by past play they shouldn't be giving up this many plays. If they don't get it figured out Georgia will hang 40 on us.

The defensive backfield has been a makeshift patchwork quilt these first two weeks. It should all settle in for real with the return of Shamburger and a healthy Thompson.
All three of these lads are exceptional. The problem we've had these first two weeks is like the boy in Holland, with 5 holes in the dike and only able to cover two hands' worth at a time. Get all three dutch boys in position, and all 5 breaches gonna be covered with ease. The synergy is when they're all on the field together.
We're gonna be solid in the backfield this coming weekend vs. UGa.
I don't think I have it in me to rewatch the game just to count the 2nd half blitzes. I'm a nerd but there's got to be a website that could make it easier.Alontae has been playing lights out.

unless our defense can get to Bennett.
Currently watching GA vs AU. That QB is going to cut up our secondary.
Auburn is horrible...Hell Arkansas gave UGA a better game....Yeah that team who has lost 20 straight SEC games...I'm not worried in the least.
If we can run the ball on them, we're going to need slow drives and chew up clock. We were'nt as effective at QB pressure against Mizzou as we were at SC and that is a concern. Bottom line is our offense is going to have to score at least 30 points to beat GAI’m not predicting a loss but anybody who is being honest would have admit that they would be licking their chops if they were the QB of a future UT opponent. Maybe Pruitt can come up with some creative blitzes or something.
Bulldogs looked good tonight solid D. QB can hit receivers on the run. Will take a near perfect called game from our OC and almost perfect play from JG. NO MISSED FG wonder what is going on with him this year ? Special teams need to be special next Saturday afternoon no missed opportunities to put points on the board . If the Vols can keep it close to the 4th quarter they might pull the upset.
You guys need to get over your BVS! The Vols are back! We will beat Georgia and absolutely destroy Auburn. We are no longer the bottom feeders of the SEC! Our roster reflects the fact that we are now among the elite. We have an NFL O-line, talented WR's, a 5th year senior at QB, and a Jeremy Pruitt defense. We played Mizzou better than Alabama did![/QUOTE
Go easy on the kool-Aid
He doesn’t look like he’s trying to learn the offense so far this year. You know why? What’s different this year? For the first time in his career he has the same OC for 2 years in a row. So there’s a reason he always looked like he was trying to learn the offense. He was! His decision making this year is way better, even if the execution still lacks at times. He made some really nice throws yesterday though, especially early on, and then our ground game took over. I remember back when Crompton was late in his career I had lunch with a former UT QB and we were talking about Crompton’s struggles. He said that having a different OC each year was a big part of the struggles. I’m not saying JG doesn’t shoulder any responsibility for how he has played but, as far as his grasp of the offense goes, OC changes has been a big part. And let’s face it, OCs under Butch and Pruitt’s first choice weren’t exactly Norm Chow, Dan Mullen, or whoever you want to throw in there. It is frustrating to constantly see qbs come in and perform right out of the gate. Meanwhile JG has played is 68 games and is still trying to learn the offense. Lol. Seriously, JG did play better today but is just limited physically in a lot of ways. Both Bennett and nix have much better athleticism than JG making it difficult to blitz them. They can use their legs to escape pressure and keep the play alive. JG just can’t do that
Is KY that bad? I heard the announcers yesterday saying this might be their best team.I just feel like a few of you are still giving uga more credit than they deserve. They are dominating an Auburn team that struggled heavily against a bad Kentucky team. UGA also struggled against a very bad Arky team. Arkansas imploded in that 2nd half and well became what they were supposed to be that whole day. I’ll say it now, UGA isn’t the #4 team in the country. Auburn isn’t the #7 team either.
I would also add State was about as flat as you can be and after a week national attention from sunrise to midnight it was impossible for them to reach a sharp level. It was very easy for Arkansas however to be sky high. I do agree that Pitt has settled things down a lot.Arkansas will be a tough out I really respect their DC Barry Odom the former Missouri HC. He came up with a plan to stop Leach's offense drop 8 rush 3 big part of the game. Also Kylin Hill getting knocked out of the game made MSU one dimensional that helped. But Arkansas at their place will be tougher than Vandy, UK at Neyland & Missouri out of all our games. We do owe Franks a beat down.
Georgia will be the first complete defense we'll face this year. That's going to make it tough for us to build up a lot of points.
On the other hand, our defense can handle this offense. Particularly if Sham, Alontae and Bryce are all on the field together.
So I expect a fairly low-scoring game that, with a little luck and a lot of sweat and effort, we have a real chance to win.
It would be an upset, yes. But it's doable.
Just asking him to do his part as one of 11 on the field. Team. He doesn't have to carry anything alone. Just be focused, be serious, be quick, and be smart. After that, Bryce, Alontae, and the rest have his back. He's gonna be fine, do well for us.Everyi e asking g alot of sham. Hes not played one game. Has he even practiced
