I believe so. You can’t beat a real coal smoker though but it’s very easy to use. Not sure what the mountain cooker is

It’s just a normal charcoal smoker.

Yes. I like rec tec better than transfer, but they are super easy to use and convenient. A lot like a gas grill but with a nice smoke flavor. You can grill or smoke with it. Do steak or a pork butt. Works well

Absolutely. I still prefer cooking with charcoal. It's just how I was taught how to bbq, but pellets are legit. Almost cheating with the way you set the temp and forget it. Give the rec tec a look before you get a traeger. It's built better imo
