I think i saw a comment about it on SI yesterdaySomeone said Kiffin mentioned the upcoming vote, too.
Here, just found a write-up on Kiffin's comment: Lane Kiffin: SEC Voting Today on Intra-Conference Transfer Rule
So, Kentucky and Ole Miss coaches seem to be the two sources of the rumor yesterday.
Still counting 14 votes?? Seems like the reps for each school should be able to vote either way at the meeting or on zoom they are not mailing in their votes. We already know what KY, Miss, & UT votes are. Uga & Bama will probably vote no.The 28th has come and gone. I have not heard anything that indicates that the vote occurred yesterday. However, it is possible that they are still counting the votes and we may hear something in the next 3-4 days.
Really having a hard time wrapping my head around this...
Cade Mays and others cleared by the NCAA.
SEC transfer Rule says No.
Vote by Presidents must occur to allow all Student-Athletes transferring from one SEC school to Another SEC School for immediate eligibility.
The NCAA in 2021 will implement the one-time transfer rule as a permanent rule.
NCAA exists for nothing. It's not a governing authority and functions only as an Administrative Body to serve in the best interest of the Student-Athlete.
Seems as though the SEC would do the same and serve in the best interests of the Student-Athletes
Due to Covid 19, players will not lose a year of eligibility....
Free Willy and Willy's Fellow Players.....LOL
Sankey took the political route and passed on all the rulings....this is crap...Sankey needed to call each President and state I am upholding/Amending the rule do you have a problem with that and what is your argument.
I certainly understand the sentiment but I would add that college programs have huge amounts of money invested in these kids. I would also add a minimal number of transfers are leaving because they were treated bad. Some maybe (at least that's what is said) but absolutely not a major issue. I do however agree that a kid should be able to transfer one time and that's it. After all, 95% of the kids will definitely need an education and jumping from school to school is not in the best interest of achieving that.Or quit treating the players like property and let them play wherever they prefer. Hammer any schools that attempt to recruit players from other schools but if a kid isn’t happy somewhere why should they be penalized for seeking a better situation? Run a good program and treat your players right and you won’t have to worry about them leaving
A vote was scheduled for this evening but no word yet if it happened or the results. SEC channel I’m sure is all over this. Case playing this week, book it!There's been rumors circulating that the SEC supposedly was having a vote yesterday. Mark Stoops tweeted something about. I don't know the details, hopefully someone that knows more can fill you in.
Do they actually have huge amounts of money invested? The kid is getting a scholarship, room/board, access to tutoring. It’s not nothing, but we’re talking something on the order of tens of thousands and the school is only paying while the kid is enrolled. If the kid transfers, the expenses stop. You could very reasonably say that the school is doing pay-as-you-go with the option to cut the kid at any time. Makes sense to me that the kids should have that same freedom to terminate the contract.I certainly understand the sentiment but I would add that college programs have huge amounts of money invested in these kids. They have multiplied $1000's and $1000's of dollars invested going all the way back years while being recruited even. I actually saw recently a general figure for one year and I cant remember the exact number (if I weren't 100% accurate I would get torched so I'll not guess) but it was staggering.Do they actually have huge amounts of money invested?
