I think wide splits are mostly used to help neutralize a pass rush. Wide splits open up pass lanes and also causes the DE to travel further to get to the QB. I am guessing that our coaches felt confident we could neutralize their pass rush.For some of your more technical football junkies it appeared to me our OL splits were really narrow Saturday. Seemed different to me from last year
